New Eldar Fire Prism 40k Rules Ignore Saves!

eldar-fire-prism-rules

Tau isn’t the only faction one-shotting Knights now, the Eldar Fire Prism 40k Rules ignore invulnerable saves too!

It seems GW really doesn’t want Invulnerable saves to really be all that special anymore as Eldar is gaining a new strat to cut right through them and armor all in the same go! We saw a rumor about the weapons and it looks like they were more or less 100% true.

We’ve also spotted the Night Spinner Datasheet out in the wild, so while the guns are totally different, it should give us a good idea of what to expect in terms of stats.

So, let’s first check out the rumor and then get into all the new rules shown by Warhammer Community.

New Eldar Heavy Support 40k Weapon Rules & NERFS

eldar advent engine day 22So some pluses and some minuses if this pans out. First of all the Night Spinnerhaving a bigger punch in the AP department may be huge and see them in a lot of lists going forward. However, compared to the datasheet below, the Night Spinner rumors might be a little off.

Eldar Fire Prism Rules

Fire Prism Rules

Its Strength makes a mockery of a Space Marine’s supposedly superhuman Toughness, that Armour Penetration will blast through their much-vaunted power armour, and Damage 2 kills regular Space Marines stone dead. With the Blast rule, it’s also great for chewing your way through any of those pesky horde armies too.

First off, the profiles are pretty decent for killing both infantry and big baddies. Especially when you take into account they will be one-shotting those pesky Marines With 3’s to Wound, D2, blast, and -2 AP. Then, the Focused Lance will cut through a lot. However, they get really strong when you take into account the Stratagem below!

Fire Prism Rules 2This has more uses than maybe at first glance. Obviously, ignoring Invuln saves is no joke! However, you only need Line of Sight for one Fire Prism, the other two just need LoS to that one. Meaning you can hide two Prisms out of sight from the enemy and just one in a spot to be shot at. Then, you ignore Invulns which the -5 AP just makes them cut through anything, a possible 18 D3s worth of damage.

The other thing to take into account is if you have a damaged Prism, you don’t actually have to use that to fire, meaning you can get all your shots on the full profile Prism!

Night Spinner Profile

Night SpinnerThis comes from the Aeldari Discord. Obviously, this is a different unit, but in the past, they have been very similar profile-wise, so this gives a good idea. With a 3+ BS, means you should get off a lot of shots and with plenty of wounds, hopefully, you won’t get shot off the map in one turn.

Plus, if they both have the Crystal Targeting Matrix, they will always ignore the modifiers, meaning if Fire Prisms also get this, they will be hitting on 3’s pretty much all the time.

Other than that though, we think Eldar players will be happy so far with this tidal wave of news and rumors for all things Aeldari. Use the links below to check out our other coverage:
