New Primaris Heavy Intercessors Box Set SPOTTED!

heavy intercessorsIt’s starting to look like the new Space Marines Heavy Intercessors box set is releasing sooner than later!

Recently we heard from an industry insider on the Heavy Intercessors/ Flayed One retail pricing, that it may not be what a lot of people were hoping.

Like many hobbyists, we assumed (yes, we know what that makes all of us…) that they would be priced similarly to other Intercessors. But, if our source is even close to correct, they will come in more like the price of Chaos Space Marine Havocs.

This is one we want to be wrong on, but from what we’ve heard, it’s hard to think otherwise.

Now with the box set being spotted (and confirmed to be relating soon after Kill Team Pariah by GW themselves), it looks like hobbyists won’t have long to wait on purchasing these seperately.

kill team boxHowever GW specifically said they will not be releasing the box alongside the Kill Team this week So, maybe the silver lining is that the price on the Pariah Nexus box actually has a little more value in it if this rumor is true.

RUMORS: Heavy Intercessors Cost More That We Thought

So, what pricing have we heard? $55 for the five. We originally, like a lot of people, thought that they would come in around the $35 mark. If true, that is quite the increase, about 63%, from what we all may have thought.

This would really be a game-changer because first off, they’ve already hidden the box behind the Kill Team paywall.  So on top of being “more expensive” to get in the first place, when they do come out separately, you’ll still have to shell out some serious cash for just 5 minis.

Chaos players will tell you that their Havocs run the same price, have probably about the same amount of bits, and that price is in line with other similar units for their range.

Clues From Flayed Ones:

There are a few clues to the pricing of  Kill Team Pariah Nexus that can perhaps be gleaned from the Necron Flayed Ones. Currently, they are $45 for their Finecast versions- yes Finecast, and yes $45 for models from nearly 10 years ago.

So in theory, if both sides of this box set were to be balanced, the Flayed Ones and Heavy Intercessors should be both about the same in-game, and potentially at the register as well.

Adjusting for GW inflation, and comparing them to things like the Havocs seems to lend some credibility to this pricing rumor but ultimately nothing concrete.

New Primaris Heavy Intercessors Box Set SPOTTED!

Spotted on Bolter and Chainsword, we’ve got a look at the potential individual box for Heavy Intercessors.

heavy int seperate boxWhile this could technically be fake it seems pretty highly unlikely seeing we’ve had similar leaks prior to release before.

GW confirmed via a comment on Facebook that all the contents inside Pariah Nexus would be available separately “soon”.  However, initially, these are still going to be exclusive to the Killteam box, at least for a time.

FB confirming kill team seperate release gw heavy intercessorThis essentially confirms the separate boxes are on the way. We don’t know the timeframe or how far off they are, but just like we mentioned above, we do have an estimate of price: $55 for five, primarily due to the kit similarity to Chaos Havocs that came before them.

With all this in mind…

Would you still get them at this price? Do you think this is accurate?
