New Warhammer previews are coming for 40k Psychic Awakening next week, and on New Years Open day for 2020 as well!
Warhammer Community announced earlier that they would be previewing the fourth book in Psychic Awakening, Ritual of the Damned, on Christmas Day, December 25th 2019.
While previews may be hitting the internet at the end of 2019, it won’t be until 2020 when we see the actual book hit the shelves. However, GW is also kicking off the year with a Warhammer Open Day on January 4th, 2020 as well.
New Years Open Day & Psychic Awakening Previews Next Week!
Ritual of the Damned Previews Ahead
With a snippet taken from the Ritual of the Damned video, Thousand Sons, Grey Knights, and Dark Angels insignias were spotted. That’s a pretty clear indicator that these will be the next factions to get the full rules overhaul. While Grey Knights and Dark Angels may be next to get Doctrines (iffy on the Grey Knights), it’s a pretty safe bet that we will see Stratagems, relics, and other rules hit the factions across the board.
What makes Ritual of the Damned especially unique is that this will be a step into a Chaos faction with a living Primarch on the tabletop as well as a standalone codex to build off of. There could be some serious spice in-line for the T-Sons lying in wait.
As for right now, we are exploring tons of new lore advancements. From the Crimson King (probably Magnus) calling these newly-psychic citizens to his world, to the Black Ships that carry sacrificial Psykers to feed the Emperor getting cut off ,things are getting even darker in the 41st millennium.
Warhammer Open Day: January 4th, 2020
Warhammer Open Day is commencing the week after the new Ritual of the Damned full preview, which could include even more goodies for Psychic Awakening. (Remember there are still two books beyond the fourth). While they left their description vague, with an entire year of releases ahead, this will probably be loaded with new previews of what’s to come.
Looking at some of last year’s Warhammer Open Day highlights we saw:
Blackstone Fortress’ Ambull
Necromunda Ambots
Adeptus Titanicus Campaign Book: Titandeath
What do you think lies ahead for the factions coming inside of Ritual of the Damned? Will Grey Knights finally get Primaris/Doctrine support?
