Is This Worth It?

This is a decent box with a wide range of models that will make for a good starting army. With a few troops, some Terminators, and a variety of vehicles, this is a fun box.

However, it only has one new miniature, so if you already play Death Guard and have all the stuff inside, it might be a pass to grab just one new miniature early.

How Many Points Is It

Blightlord Termies PostWhile the new codex isn’t out yet, based on the current points and Chaos Space Marines, we would guess this box is somewhere around 700-750 points. But, as you know, the tides of the Grimdark universe are ever-shifting, and with the latest points updates, that number could quickly fluctuate.

What to Buy Next?

MortarionWell, this has all the new miniatures coming for the faction (just the one), so there’s nothing new to worry about grabbing. With this box, you have a decent starting force, but you need more characters, Plague Marines, tanks, and of course, all the firepower you want! If you’re feeling spicy, you can even add in Mortarion!

However, without the new codex out yet, we don’t know how the detachments are shaping up. But GW did hint at a Chaos Daemons detachment, so you could always lean into that angle and grab a bunch of Nurgle Daemons.

Final Thoughts: New Death Guard 40k Army Box Set

Death Guard Battleforce

Alright, that’s the guts and gory glory of the new Death Guard Poxwrought Vector Battleforce. Is it the most groundbreaking box to shamble out of the warp? Nah. But does it pack a decent wallop of value and a solid mini-lineup? Absolutely.

If you’re new to the Plaguefather’s cause, it’s a nice way to get some heavy hitters without bleeding your wallet dry. And for long-time Death Guard players? Well… if you’ve already got a shelf full of Plagueburst Crawlers and Terminators, this might be more of a sidegrade than an upgrade—unless you’re dying (heh) to get your hands on that new Lord of Poxes.
