The NOTTINGHAM 40K SUPER-MAJOR top 8

1st Place: Will Whitaker – Chaos Daemons Army Lists

At the Nottingham Super Major, Will’s Chaos Daemons list swept the battlefield in a whirlwind of claws, elegance, and carnage, proving that Slaanesh doesn’t just seduce—it slaughters. With a lineup of daemonic icons, fast-moving horrors, and some deceptively durable troops, Will’s army turned the competition into a twisted dance of destruction.

Let’s take a look at how this symphony of excess claimed victory and left a trail of shredded foes behind.

Will Whitaker daemon 1

Will’s list was headlined by two Keepers of Secrets, those towering avatars of deadly grace. These daemonic behemoths combined raw melee power with unsettling speed, slicing through the enemy lines before they even realized what hit them.

Adding even more flavor to this elegant nightmare was Syll’Esske, the dynamic duo who bring their own blend of combat prowess and tactical utility. Syll’Esske excel at amplifying the army’s combat efficiency, making them as much a force multiplier as a force to be reckoned with.

The Masque of Slaanesh joined the fray as a debonair melee enhancer, buffing wound rolls and ensuring that every strike from the daemons hit just a little harder. The Masque isn’t just a dancer—it’s the choreographer of chaos, ensuring the slaughter follows a perfectly timed rhythm.

Rounding out the leadership were an Exalted Seeker Chariot and a Tranceweaver. The Chariot brought sustained hits, turning every melee into an avalanche of attacks, while the Tranceweaver ensured Will’s army got the jump on its foes with the ability to fight first. When the daemons hit, they hit fast and hit hard, leaving nothing but carnage in their wake.

Will Whitaker daemon 2

On the troop side, Will’s list included the quintessential Slaanesh choice: Daemonettes. These swift and deadly combatants brought speed and precision to the battlefield, darting between enemy units and slicing through them with their elegant claws.

For a touch of contrast, Plaguebearers were included to bring a splash of durability. These shambling servants of Nurgle may not match the speed or elegance of their Slaaneshi comrades, but they can take a punch—and then ooze back to their feet for more. Together, the Daemonettes and Plaguebearers formed a perfect blend of offense and staying power.

The list’s mobility came courtesy of three units of Fiends and two Seeker units. Fiends are fast, terrifying melee threats that disrupt enemy plans with their ability to prevent units from falling back. These nightmares-on-hooves are perfect for pinning down key targets and ensuring that Will’s army stayed in control of the board.

The Seekers added even more speed, zipping around the battlefield to harass enemy backlines, claim objectives, or pile into combats where their claws could do the most damage. Their role as swift strikers made them a vital part of the army’s strategy, keeping opponents constantly on the defensive.

Final Thoughts on Army Lists: Nottingham Super-Major

Will’s list was a masterclass in what makes Chaos Daemons so terrifying: speed, melee power, and the ability to overwhelm opponents before they can respond. The Keepers of Secrets and Syll’Esske delivered devastating blows to key targets, while the Masque, Exalted Seeker Chariot, and Tranceweaver ensured the army struck with precision and efficiency.

The combination of durable Plaguebearers and lightning-fast Daemonettes created a balanced core, while the Fiends and Seekers added the mobility needed to control the board. Every unit had a purpose, and every move was part of a larger plan to engulf the enemy in a daemonic tide.

These top army lists from the Nottingham Super-Major are a reminder that the Chaos Daemons can win if built with every unit having a purpose and every move is part of a grand strategy. With a little bit of finesse, they can hold their own against even the deadliest Space Marine and Blood Angels army lists.
