1st Place: Nicholas Willingale – Blood Angels Army Lists

When it comes to winning strategies in Warhammer 40k, the Blood Angels don’t just rely on raw power—they use a blend of speed, finesse, and a dash of good old-fashioned vengeance. Nicholas’ winning Blood Angels list at Beachhead Brawl proves that when you mix the ferocity of the Angels with a calculated approach to close-quarters combat, victory isn’t just a possibility.

Nicholas Willingale 1

Leading the charge is a powerful duo: a Judiciar and a Captain. The Judiciar is the kind of character you want when the enemy starts hiding behind their precious characters. With his ability to dish out brutal justice in melee, the Judiciar ensures no one escapes the wrath of the Blood Angels.

Meanwhile, the Captain brings some much-needed leadership and buffs to nearby units, guiding them like a true strategist.

When it comes to close-range combat, the Blood Angels are second to none. Three squads of Assault Intercessors step in, providing a solid line of infantry that can rush forward with their chainswords and bolt pistols blazing.

Nicholas Willingale 2

And if you need a transport to get them there quickly, the Impulsor steps up to deliver both protection and extra shots, giving those Assault Intercessors just the boost they need to get in close and personal with the enemy.

But why settle for standard when you can go for the Jump Pack version of the Assault Intercessors? These airborne warriors bring a huge boost to mobility, capable of leaping across the battlefield to close the distance with lightning speed.

Nicholas Willingale 3

Of course, the Blood Angels know the importance of versatility, so they bring in the Ballistus Dreadnoughts for some heavy-hitting ranged anti-armor fire. These Dreadnoughts are as tough as they come, capable of taking out enemy armor while standing firm like a brick wall.

They’re not just big and tough—they pack a punch that’s hard to ignore, helping to soften up any tough targets before the Blood Angels get close enough to finish the job.

For a more subtle approach, Incursor and Infiltrator squads provide the sniper-style firepower needed to take out enemy leaders or high-priority targets from a distance.

Nicholas Willingale 4

How about more anti-armor? Nicholas has that covered too.

Predator Destructors roll in with their tank chassis, bringing a mobile source of heavy firepower. These bad boys are perfect for dealing with enemy armor, and their mobility means they’re not just sitting ducks waiting for the enemy to pick them off. They can move, shoot, and—if need be—take a few hits while dishing out a ton of pain.

As for utility, Scout squads are the unsung heroes. Often overlooked, these guys provide early-game utility and can do everything from screening units to capturing objectives.

Nicholas Willingale 5

And let’s not forget the Storm Speeder at the end of the list, offering one last burst of speed and firepower to wrap things up. Whether it’s taking out a key target or swooping in for a last-minute objective grab, the Storm Speeder is the cherry on top of an already fantastic list.
