1st Place: John Lennon – Space Marines / Ultramarines Army Lists
Warhammer 40k is a universe filled with armies that have stood the test of time, but every so often, one comes along to prove that tradition isn’t just about old tactics—it’s about mastery.
Enter John’s Space Marine army that took Warzone Atlanta by storm. Led by none other than the unstoppable Marneus Calgar and the living legend Roboute Guilliman, this army proves that Space Marines aren’t just about brute force; they’re about doing it with style and support.
Marneus Calgar, known for his sheer power on the battlefield, leads from the front like the heavyweight champion of the Imperium.
Then there’s Roboute Guilliman, the model of leadership and the mastermind behind the battle. His ability to support and bolster nearby units makes him not just a powerhouse but a tactical genius. Together, they make a deadly combo, blending strength with strategy and ensuring that no foe stands a chance.
But what would a great pair of generals be without a solid army to back them up? John’s army featured a perfect mix of backbone and firepower. Intercessors filled in as the core—standard but reliable—offering some much-needed numbers to hold objectives.
Three Dreadnoughts brought the heavy guns and the ability to turn the tide of battle with their sheer presence. If you’re looking for a way to make the opponent sweat, nothing says “we’re serious” like Dreadnoughts stomping across the field, ready to lay down the law.
Support is key in any army, and John made sure that elite and flexible units were never far behind. Company heroes added that touch of elite toughness, capable of taking on any challenge, while the Infiltrators and Incursors snuck in to take objectives with their improved bolt rifles.
Of course, it’s not all about grinding through foot soldiers—mobility is just as important in modern (and the grim-dark future!) warfare. That’s where the speed of the Outriders and the heavy-hitting firepower of the Storm Speeders and Stormraven came in.
Whether it was zooming across the battlefield to claim objectives or providing air support with the Stormraven’s firepower, these units added much-needed dynamism and punch to an already stacked army.
Let’s not forget the Scout squad, either. Often underestimated, this squad provides cheap utility to throw in the mix. They’re not here to win wars by themselves but to fill the gaps and help ensure that every move is calculated.

Final Thoughts on Army Lists: Warzone Atlanta
In the end, Warzone Atlanta proved once again that in the vast expanse of the Warhammer 40k universe, strategy triumphs over brute force (most of the time, at least). John’s Ultramarines didn’t just march to victory; they danced their way to the top, leaving a trail of defeated foes and envious glances in their wake.
Whether you’re an Astra Militarum player, a loyal follower of the Death Guard, or just here for the dazzling lore, take a cue from these champions: every unit matters.
So, whether you’re planning your own next big tournament or just looking to spice up your games at home, take a page from these winners and remember: every unit counts, and sometimes, all you need is a good plan and a whole lot of power armor (or lasguns).
