Today we take a look back at two of the coolest retro posters from Warhammer 40k, the cut-away Land Raider and Predator White Dwarf exclusives!
GW definitely puts a lot of love and effort into their model’s details these days. But did you know they also put out a super detailed look at how their vehicles would actually function in real life?
Take a look at these Land Raider and Predator 40k posters from back in the day that were found only in White Dwarf magazines from the early 2000s!
Cut-Away Land Raider
This poster, now old enough to graduate high school, kicked off Games Workshop’s push to prove they made the best models in the world. It shows you all the inner workings of a Land Raider and how it looks in different Chapter colors. This poster also corresponded to the kit itself for the most part, like the engine, bolter rack, and seats.
At the bottom of the poster, it lists out over one-hundred different parts to the machine, which honestly is just GW going above the minimum and proving that they’ve put a lot of time into their design.
This is really just an iconic poster that’s probably living in a bunch of hobby studios to this day.
Cut-Away Predator
In the same way as the Land Raider, the Predator got the same treatment with specs, breakdowns, and chapter color previews as the bottom!
Although GW took some of their Stratagem support away in 8th edition, they’re still the classic Marine’s go-to harasser vehicle that is totally spammable.
We’re just scratching the surface here so if you want to take a closer look at the details on both of these models, check out the video below!
If you need even more looks at the most badass vehicles from 40k, The Lord Inquisitor does a great job showing how they may actually function in this retro trailer from 2011!
Do you still use either of these vehicles in your 2k point list? Do you have these posters hung up in your hobby corner?
