1st Place: Jonathan Sebert – Orks Army Lists
Orks aren’t exactly known for their meticulous battle plans or subtle strategy. They charge, they smash, and they bellow “WAAAGH!” until the enemy is either in pieces or running for their lives.
But every now and then, an Ork Warboss comes along who manages to bring just enough kunnin’ to go with all that brutal. Enter Jonathan, the mastermind behind the green tide that stomped its way to victory at the Rose City Rampage.
Jonathan’s army was led by an all-star cast of brutal greenskins, starting with two Beastbosses. These hulking brutes dished out some solid hit roll buffs to make sure their ladz were swinging hard and fast. Alongside them, a Big Mek provided hit re-rolls and brought some respectable firepower to the mix.
And, of course, no self-respecting Ork warband would be complete without the biggest, baddest boss in the galaxy—Ghazghkull Thraka himself. If there was ever a model to remind everyone why Orks are not to be underestimated, it’s him. A Warboss added yet another layer of leadership and combat prowess, and Zodgrod Wortsnagga helped ensure that the humble Gretchin could pull their weight with a sneaky pre-game scout move.
On the heavier-hitting side, two units of Beast Snagga Boyz paired up with the Beastbosses, bringing that classic Ork mix of resilience and face-smashing potential. Transporting these ladz into battle were three trusty Trukks, ensuring early mobility and keeping them safe (or at least as safe as Orks ever get). A single Battlewagon joined in as well, doing the same job as the Trukks but with a bit more dakka.
Speaking of those Gretchin, two units of the little runts were included to act as cheap, expendable bodies. They soaked up damage and played nice with Zodgrod’s tricks.
For melee mayhem, the army included the new Breaka Boyz and Meganobz—two units designed to punch straight through enemy lines with their sheer brute force. When the Orks needed to clear out chaff or soften up a target, the Flash Gitz were more than happy to unload a storm of bullets in the general direction of whatever looked at them funny.
Speed and specialized destruction weren’t forgotten either. Stormboyz provided extra mobility, making sure that nowhere on the battlefield was safe from an Ork ambush. And when it was time to blow up enemy tanks, Tankbustas got the job done with a grin and a whole lot of explosive firepower.
2nd Place: Ben Hackländer – Astra Militarum / Imperial Guard Army Lists
3rd Place: Lukas Troller – Orks Army Lists
Final Thoughts on Army Lists: Rose City Rampage
The winning army was a list that combined everything Orks do best—hitting hard, moving fast, and making a mess of the battlefield. Jonathan’s strategy of mixing tough melee threats with mobile fire support paid off, proving that sometimes, the best plan is just a really loud, really aggressive WAAAGH!
These top army lists from the Rose City Rampage are a reminder that the Orks can win if built with every unit having a purpose, and every move is part of a grand strategy. With a little bit of finesse, they can hold their own against even the deadliest Astra Militarum army lists.
