Games Workshop previewed Janus Draik as the first character, and it doesn’t stop there, however. Take a look at what some of his companions will look like. They are coming from all corners of the galaxy! Today it looks like Abaddon may not be in Blackstone Fortress after all. Check out the latest.
RUMORS: Blackstone Fortress Contents & No Abaddon
Janus Draik looks to be the “ringleader” of the whole operation for Blackstone Fortress.
The Rogue Trader, Janus Draik, looks to be the main character out of the game. He’s been quoted from the preview earlier talking about a <Redacted>. He’s also talking in a video from Games Workshop.
Janus is talking in the video about an area of space full of adventurers that’s called Precipice.
The video is essentially him looking for a group brave (or stupid) enough to follow him into the Blackstone Fortress. It looks like he’s already got a group of adventurers by his side…
Kroot & More Characters Spotted
Take a look at the latest video from GW. There are some interesting characters moving into the Black Fortress with Janus.
Could this be a Rogue Trader or a wealthy Tau on the left? Is that an Electro Priest on the right? He does have roughly the same headpiece that they all wear.
This isn’t the first time we’ve seen art for the game with an Eldari Ranger in it. What motive could the Kroot have to want to go into the Blackstone Fortress?
Speaking of Kroot, his model was actually previewed! He looks WAY more decked out than other Kroot that Tau use as meat shields. We don’t know his name or rules just yet, but that model is sweet.
Lastly, there was some kind of hulking dude in armor in the last part of the video. Is this something like Great Value Terminator armor thrown together by some scrap junkies? It would make sense that Janus wouldn’t be able to get his hands on a suit of Terminator armor so this is the next best thing.
No Abaddon?
After the hype generated around Blackstone fortress coming from the potential Abaddon model, multiple sources have chimed in with the contents inside, and
Abaddon isn’t coming… yet
Sadly, it looks like Abaddon may not be in the box despite rumors to the contrary.
However, there’s still some value to it. This is what we can look for on the Chaos side of things:
- New Chaos Lord (last one is from 2005)
- Chaos Marines
- Renegade Guardsmen-type models.
Abaddon might not be coming inside but a new Lord model on top of a new Renegade Guardsmen-esque squad in plastic sounds just about as nice. Will we see Plastic Renegade squads come out shortly after Blackstone? Who knows. That’s also not to say that Abaddon won’t be getting a new model yet either.
