Obviously, Chapter Approved 2022 is going to be mixing up the meta, check out the changes the latest rumors say are on the way!
With the book coming soon, you know it was only a matter of time before we saw some leaks. We’ve talked about it before but a new Chapter Approved with rules changes so soon has some good and some bad. While having the game balanced sooner is good, paying for more books is not and rules creep might get out of hand. We’re not here to talk about that however, we’re here for the new Warhammer rules rumors.
These were found on Bolter and Chainsword and have some interesting Chapter Approved 2022 rules changes rumors. Let’s check out what may be changing!
RUMORS: Chapter Approved 2022 Changes & Points Leaked
- First up, it looks like there will be no Subfaction soup, not sure exactly how it will be done, but looks like they are done with soup. This could really change up some lists!
- Most detachments, besides Battalions and Brigades. will be losing certain slots, the most likely ones seem to be Heavy and Fast Attack. This feels almost like a direct NERF to something like Dark Eldar who use a bunch of patrols.
Next up, there are some rumors for new Sisters of Battle points changes.
- Morvenn Vahl +15
- Novitiates +2.5
- Sacresants +2
- Paragon Warsuits -10 (per model)
- Exorcists -10
- Immolators -10
It looks like the Warsuits and vehicles are the winners here whereas the infantry is getting hit. Still, nothing too insane. Then, we’ve also seen rumors of a day one Custodes points changes.
RUMORS: Adeptus Custodes Getting Day 1 Points Update
So it looks like the Adeptus Custdoes Forge World units, and some of the codex book entries may be getting a day one points update. These are reportedly from the Grand Tournament 2022 Chapter approved book that releases January 29th, 2022.
An identical list of Adeptus Custodes points updates is floating around out there on Reddit and Facebook.
Now while some folks will be upset by the immediate “invalidation” of yet another in print Games Workshop book, it’s worth mentioning that this Codex, in theory, is being released way later than originally intended. So it is “butting up” so to speak against the new twice-yearly GT updates.
Updates in general for any game are just good business. That being said it also seems like in 2022 GW will have their hands full trying to monetize these updates while getting hobbyists to adopt their new DLC style pay-to-play path to market.
