Don’t miss the latest Warhammer 40k rumors on what may be the full release of Sisters of Battle early next year in 2020!
Sisters of Battle are hitting the scene with an Army Set containing multiple plastic units as well as a codex. But you might remember some earlier previews showing other units that are still nowhere to be found. But before we jump into the latest rumors, let’s take a look at the units we’re still waiting to see.
Sisters of Battle Units Not in the Army Set
Warhammer Community has been teasing Sisters vehicles from before the NOVA Open. Looking at all of the stuff that won’t be in the Army Set:
The Rhino is one unit we’re waiting to see. These were originally previewed to come with circular doors. However, was changed some point soon after its first preview. There were, however, some other rhino-chassis type vehicles previewed showing circular doors. We’re also getting the Immolator and Exorcist!
Immolator with Flame weapon option
Exorcist with Lady Ga-Ga style helmeted weapons operator. My what big eyes you have there…
Sister Hospitaller Model Revealed
The Hospitaller has loads of interesting details, such as the symbolic doves carrying unfurled scrolls of holy scripture, and the hollow helm (complete with full interior detail!) of the fallen Battle Sister on her scenic base.
Sisters of Battle Retributors
The heavy weapons unit for the Sisters are getting a rework and we have to say we’re pretty happy with the results.
You might remember the Heavy Bolter from a while back. It was previewed along with a handful of other weapons.
Retributors are also getting a resculpted Heavy Flamer! But these aren’t just any Heavy Flamers. These are loaded with the classic Sisters iconography and style. From Fleur de Lise and medieval-looking barrel extensions, these girls are looking unique. Plus, from the two pics above, we can see that there’s going to be all kinds of variations between the models.
In addition to multiple options of each weapon type and a Sister Superior to lead them, the Retributors will have a number of head options, including bare, helmeted, or ones equipped with rebreathers – all of which have their own additional flourishes of detail.
cherubs are set to become a common sight across the upcoming Adepta Sororitas range. Whether they carry sacred texts, scrolls and relics, incensed-wreathed censors, or even the keys to the Simulacrum Imperialis carried by the Battle Sister Squads, they represent wonderfully macabre additions to many of the kits.
Sisters of Battle are picking up speed as we get closer to the Box Set release. So when will we see the other models? Rumors point to early next year.
Latest Kits to Be Spotted
Shortly after the images of new Sororitas units were spotted circulating around the web, Warhammer Community dropped an official preview. We’ve got a closer, crystal clear look at what was just spotted. Check out the new minis on the way to the Sisters!
New Multipart Battle Sister Squads
Multipart Battle Sisters kits are coming in hot and packed with detail. Get a closer look at all of the weapon/head options on the way.
Going off of what we’ve seen alone, these individual kits are probably going to be pretty large. Fitting ten models on top of all of sorts of head/weapon options, there won’t be two Sororitas armies exactly alike!
Remember, so far we’ve only seed flamer-style heavy weapons with these girls. But they’ll also be getting the classic heavy bolters and multi-meltas from before as well.
Battle Sisters Kit Will Also Build Dominions & Celestians
Coming from the mouth of GW, the basic Troops kit will also offer two other unit builds:
What’s more, this set also builds you Dominions, forward-scouting vehicle killers and special-weapon wielders, as well as Celestians, elite bodyguards who’ll carve up anyone who dares attack your Canonesses. These units are marked by their own special components.
Sisters have had so much love put into them, each model looks like it could be a character in their own right.
Painted Hospitaller
First seen with a Bane-type mask and special Sororitas object in her right hand, it looks like the model was tweaked once more and painted up.
You can tell that the Hospitaller had her cool little religious pendant in her hand changed some with her face fully open under her hood.
New Diologus & Imagifier Models Spotted
Old Diologus Model
New Diologus Model
GW has certainly come a long way. The new Diologus model was first spotted in an early teaser photo. However, was officially unveiled with some serious cosmetic upgrades.
The Imagifier also got a helping hand. Carrying what looks to be some vague idol to Celestine, she’ll be a must-have unit to inspire the rest of your ranks.
Multipart Canoness Options
Canonesses also got more love from GW getting some pretty amazing multipart options. From staves to power swords, plasma pistols to inferno pistols. the Canoness is looking to be able to fit a variety of frontline roles.
Junith Eruita on the Pulpit of Doom
Junith was another model recently spotted circulating around the web. It didn’t take long to GW to pull the curtain back on this one. How could you say no to a named Sister floating around on a pulpit carrying four flamers???
GW also hinted at more previews in the near future as well:
And that’s just a sample of what’s on the way for Sisters of Battle – we haven’t even BEGUN to look at Retributors, Zephyrim, the Battle Sanctum, or the other datasheets in the codex yet…
Latest Rumors: Sisters Coming Early 2020
From all the models shown above, none of them are coming in the Army Set. However, GW has clearly been showing consistent updates on their latest projects. This has left us scratching our heads on when we’d see these available and on the shelves. According to an Industry Insider, we may not have too long to wait:
New stuff is coming February 2020, full army release.
With that covered, it might have been a worry to some of you that we were going to get an Army Set and then have to wait forever for more support. While GW has been known to draw out releases first spotted in Box Sets, we may not have to wait too long for Sisters.
From the post GW put up then promptly took down, we also know that each kit in the Army box apparently will be getting a stand-alone multipart box set in early 2020 as well.
Don’t lose faith – this boxed set is only the tip of the blade. The vanguard, if you will, to a massive Sisters of Battle release that will be here before you know it. While the contents of the Army Set are specific to this particular box, each and every unit in the army will be getting its own multipart plastic kit in early 2020!
This will give hobbyists plenty of time to get your Army Set units looking perfect for the tabletop while you wait.
With this latest batch of rumors covered, what do you think the prices on all the new models will be? Is there a certain unit you’ll be maxing out on?
