The Cost for a Gallon of Games Workshop Paint is Wild!

gallon-of-games-workshop-paintJust for the fun of it, or maybe the pain, here is how much a full gallon of Games Workshop Citadel paint would cost.

It wasn’t that long ago we broke down the costs of miniatures paint and how they work overall. That got us thinking (not to mention painting a house…) how much would a gallon cost? Well, as you can probably guess, it’s not going to be cheap, but who thought it was anyway?

Maybe more importantly, if you could grab a single gallon of paint, which color would you choose? Maybe if you’re playing a horde army, you could go with the base color, but you better be really good at keeping paint fresh if you’re going to use a full gallon!

How Much Would a Gallon of Games Workshop Citadel Paint Cost?

Let’s start with the price per pot:

Now, let’s see how much each ML is.

  • Citadel GW38 Cents/ML
  • Citadel Contrast: 43 Cents/ ML  (most expensive)
  • Citadel Air (new bigger pot): 33 Cents / ML

That’s all well and good, but who cares about such small amounts as an ML? Let’s check out the gallon prices!

  • Citadel GW: Full Gallon for $1,438.45
  • Citadel Contrast: Full Gallon for $1,627.72
  • Citadel Air (new bigger pot): Full Gallon for $1,249.18
  • Sherwin-Williams gallon average: $70

Now that is a seriously expensive can of paint! If you are a truly crazy person and wanted to paint a full 12×10 room with GW paint, it would take 1.5 gallons and cost you $2,157.68! Again, this is just for fun, and pretty crazy to see the numbers!

Sherwin-Williams and Valspar are so jealous right now.
