The Missing McFarlane Primaris Space Marine Action Figure

mcfarlane primaris action figureWhile the price may be good to be true, one McFarlane Primaris Space Marine Intercessor action figure is missing and we still can’t order it!

We’re now up to three McFarlane-produced 40k action figures on the way (four if you count the primed version). While two are up for order right now, the boltgun intercessor (and its unpainted variant) are nowhere to be found!

Both of these won’t release until September, however, you can lock yours in right meow. Best of all, these new figures are a fraction of the cost that the Bandai Action figure was!

The Missing McFarlane Primaris Space Marine Action Figure

The first time we saw any involvement from GW with McFarlane Toys was back in the 2020 Toy Fair.

mcfarlane action figure space marine (2)Coming soon from the makers of Spawn, other action figures of comic book characters and sports stars through the years will be a new line of Space Marine pre-painted and primed action figures.

They will start with the Intercessor model.

Games Workshop is announcing a new partnership with action-figure masters McFarlane to release a range of Warhammer 40,000 action figures, starting with this Primaris Intercessor.

Details are being kept on the down-low right now, but we have a few tidbits we can share. First of all, these fully poseable action figures are planned for release in both painted and unpainted versions (perfect for representing your favourite Chapter). Secondly, this Primaris Intercessor is only the beginning – there are more already in the pipeline, and they’re not all Space Marines… We’ll have more news on just how you can get your hands on these before too long.

Pricing & WIP Images of McFarlane Space Marine Action Figures:

Scott Rubin posted up these images of the new figures from the toy show on our Facebook Group.

Updates! Wanted to get the pics up ASAP. These are prototypes, finals will be articulated. Not a lot, that’s what Bandai is for.
Will be both painted and unpainted versions.
There will be more Marines, and NON SPACE MARINE figures. They’re even looking at doing actual characters if the generic soldier type figures sell.

Details look to hold up well in this close up for sure on the painted version.

A painted and unpainted posable Intercessor that’s affordable is exciting. But McFarlane and GW also just announced more goodies to help usher in 9th Edition.

Even More Progress Pics of Earlier Intercessor Previews

On top of the two new models revealed, they still didn’t let us forget about the pre-painted and primed version of the Intercessor from 2020’s Toy Fair.

Yes, you can paint your own. This initial wave also includes an unpainted Space Marine Primaris Intercessor armed with a Bolt Rifle, ready to be recruited into your favourite Chapter.

Notice that the sculpt looks to have been cleaned up some? There’s no more insignia on the right leg of the mode. The purity seal on the bolter seems to have changed slightly as well.

Comparing McFarlane To Bandai

spawn vs bandaiWe took Spawn from McFarlane (excuse the packing peanut stains on the cape- they clean up nicely with goo-gone) and compared it to Bandai’s Space Marine. you can get an idea of the scale and quality between the two figures and brands above!

If you want to see more, check out GW’s other partnership with Bandai as we review their pre-painted limited release Marine

While Bandai’s Marine might’ve been a limited release at a pretty high price tag, McFarlane’s action figures are still on the way. So far, we’ve got three models (four if you count the primed Intercessor) on the way and they’re still telling us that there’s more to come!

With all the details that we know so far gathered on McFarlane’s figures, are they much more affordable for your hobby shelf? Which Chapter will you be painting your Intercessor from?
