Don’t miss what rose to the top of the leaderboards at the Fall Brawl Tournament as we look at 3 more top 40k Army lists for 9th Edition.
The Fall Brawl 40k Tournament is over and now we’re able to look at which lists managed to secure a place at the top! Check out what these winners brought in their army.
It does appear that they ARE using the new Space Marines and Necron codexes woot!
Top 3 40k Army Lists: Fall Brawl 40k Tournament
Thanks to Best Coast Pairings we are able to look back at the event as if we were there ourselves.
3rd Place: Mike DeLange- Dark Angels
Stating off with his HQ choices, there’s a surprising amount of speed. The [Legends] Chaplain on Bike and double Ravenwing Talonmaster offer mobile support anywhere they are needed thanks to their above-average movement. There is also a Master in Terminator to provide re-rolls to a unit.
As for Troops, we see a pretty basic 3 squads of stock tactical marines. These aren’t on the list to get kills per-ce but rather to secure objectives while the rest of the list makes work of the opponent.
The rest of the list is entirely Elites. One Ancient and Champion to provide a touch of support without losing too many resources. Followed by an absolute beater of a unit in the 10-man Deathwing Knight squad outfitted with melee options to lay down the hurt. They are supported by two squads of 5 Deathwing terminators also with melee options. Lastly, there is a single Ravenwing Apothecary (on bike no less) to help keep models topped off in the front line.
2nd Place: Trenton Sample- Necrons
Right out of the gates we see that Trenton wanted to take the new Silent King, granted the models offers a ton of support for a list, while not being so much of a beater, it is a great support piece.
For the Second Detachment, there is the Triarch Praetorians filling a majority of the points. Followed by three Lokhust Heavy Destroyers for some anti-armor support.
Lastly, the Patrol Detachment has a clear focus on melee with the Skorpekh Lord and Destroyers filling out half of the 900 points allotted to the detachment.
Back In Stock For a Limited Time!
1st Place: Marc Nuessen- Grey Knights
Only two HQ’s make up an all infantry force, that may have leaned heavily on the Interceptors for mobility with their jump packs and once per game shunt move.
Psychics aplenty, Voldus led his brothers in the psychic revolution! The astral aim is straight dirty on the purgation squads and allows them not just to ignore cover, but also shoot what they do not have a line of sight to. Dumping a vortex of doom from seemingly any angle (with the intercessors) is also a concern, but perhaps the Active tide combos with psi-weapons or giving a reroll to an already +1 wound weapon, or just making these guys have the benefit of cover (or -1 to hit if in cover) is what put this list over the top.
Grey Knight Victory- Congrats to Marc on the win!
