Three more armies finished at the top of the ladder in the Iron Halo 40k GT. Check out what these players brought against 100 other opponents!
With so many players at the Iron Halo GT, the competition was fierce. But amidst all the bloodshed and objective holding, three lists rose to the top. Check out these top three armies and see if your list looks similar.

3rd Place: Admech- Cyle Thompson
Starting off, Cawl led a Battalion detachment on some minimal-costed Troops. The real workhorse of the detachment came down to the Fulgurite Electro-Priests and some Onager Dunecrawlers. The Electro-Priests loaded up into the Duneriders/Termite Assault Drill and barreled down the board for melee. The Onager Cunecrawlers hung back with the Icarus Array and helped cover the skies against any flyers. Usually, Dunecrawlers are geared towards anti-ground armor. It’s nice to see the Icarus Array as a totally viable option.
Moving onto the second and final detachment, another Battalion was brough with Daedalosus, the Tech-Priest out of Blackstone Fortress leading the way. Three Skorpius Disintegrators with the Elite-killing Energy Cannon were also taken for extra LOS-ignoring firepower. Awesome job placing high as well as using such a unique list!
2nd Place: Dark Eldar- Nick Gower
In this list, ALL of the Kabalite warriors came out to play. Rather surprisingly, this list was able to hang against lists against Knights with such low-toughness units on the field. Kabal of the Black Heart was taken for the Agents of Vect strat which is always a nice counter to any enemy list.
Where this list really threw its points down were on some Trueborn all armed with Blasters (which is essentially a melta profile-weapon. As well as a Supreme Command of some of the nastiest Aeldari HQs out there. Yvraine hung back and pulled psychic shenanigans all game while the Yncarne acted like a bad pop-up ad as soon as something died on the field. While the list might have a low-toughness across the board, the Venoms added much-needed transport speed and those Blasters made armor think twice about getting too close. Awesome list!
1st Place: Orks- Nick Sutherland
Orks managed to pull out the win against all the competition from the event. The first Battalion taken was loaded down with a mix of Boy blobs carrying Choppas and Shootas. Their sole objective was to make it into combat as quickly as possible before getting shot off the board with a T-shirt armor save.
The 2nd Battalion was a part of the Dread Waaagh! Vigilus formation giving one of the three Big Mek HQ’s in the list the Souped-up Shokka unleashing mortal wound hell in the shooting phase. Gretchin were taken to fill out the obligatory Troops positions while most of the points were dumped into a line of Mek Gunz.
Finally, another Battalion was brought with cheap Troops and HQs being brought. That way, there were plenty of points to bring 15 Lootas in a unit. Gretchin linked arms and took rounds for these guys while the Lootas went after any armor/elites they could spot.
All in all, this list had a VERY shooty aspect contradictory to most Ork lists we’ve seen. The only real melee aspect came from 60 of the 90 Boyz from the Evil Sunz Battalion. Great list and good job coming in 1st place!
