By James Rodriguez | September 10th, 2017 | Categories: Death Guard, Warhammer 40k, Warhammer 40k Rumors

Typhus Wal HorFrom tanks to Typhus, the new Death Guard are coming in hot! Let’s take a look at more of the datasheets and stats for this week’s new codex book.

Today we’re getting a preview look at datasheets and stats for new and old Death Guard units. There is a lot to go over so, for now, we will cover the new units and weapons that the Death Guard Codex is bringing to the table!

Typhus’ points and stats didn’t change much, but he did get a great new looking model.

The only difference from the index to the codex is his Manreaper is now master-crafted and does 3 Damage instead of D3.

The Foetid Bloat-Drone is not changing much, with it’s power dropping from 10 to 8. But it is getting access to two new weapon options, the fleshmower and the heavy blight launcher.

The fleshmower is a plague weapon with Strength +2, AP -2, does 2 Damage, and each time a Foetid Bloat Drone fights it can make 6 additional attacks with this weapon.

The Myphitic Blight-hauler is a Fast Attack unit costing 85 points. It is Strength 6, Toughness 7, has 8 Wounds, 10″ Move, 3 Attacks, 3+ Save, 5+ Invulnerable Save, +1 to hit rolls when 3 or more in a unit, and it does not suffer penalty for moving and firing heavy weapons.
It is equipped with a missile launcher, multi melta, bile spurt, and gnashing maw. The bile spurt has a 12″ range, it’s Assault D3, Strength 6, AP -1, 1 Damage, and it’s a plague weapon. The gnashing maw is the Myphitic Blight-hauler’s melee plague weapon, Strength User, AP -2, and does 1 Damage.
The Myphitic Blight-hauler also has the following abilities:
  • Foul stench: Enemy units must subtract 1 from hit rolls when targeting this model in the fight phase.
  • Putrescent Fog: Friendly Death Guard Infantry units that are entirely within 7″ gain the benefit of cover when making armor saves rolls.

Plagueburst Crawler

Plagueburst Crawler costs 110 points with Strength 7, Toughness 8, 12 Wounds, 3 Attacks, Leadership 8, 3+ Save. It comes equiped with a plagueburst mortar, heavy slugger, and two plaguespitters. The plaguespitters can be replaced with two entropy cannons which have a 36″ range, Heavy 1, Strength 8, AP -4, and does D6 damage. The plagueburst mortar has a 12″ to 48″ range, Heavy D6, Strength 8, AP-2, D3 Damage, and can hit units that are not visible to the model

We are seeing a ton of new units coming out of the Death Guard Codex, and so far we’re not disappointed. The Death Guard are looking even more deadly with every update we get, and we’re far from done.
