December 13th, 2023: Revealed September 23rd, 2024
We nailed this guess, but who knew it was a suicide rat all along?
December 20th, 2023: Revealed October 5th, 2024
A sword from AoS is pretty easy to spot, but a new Warband of everyone’s favorite Stormcast is a nice touch

Capes always look better in fantasy, and Stormcast has a ton of em, making this one right at home!
July 2nd, 2024: Revealed October 5th, 2024
We were right on the money with this one! But thanks to chaos trim, its was one of the easier placements in recent memory.

Despite the recent reveals, all of these Rumor Engine teasers have yet to be identified. Regardless, the community is abuzz with speculation, with countless theories circulating about the identities of these elusive miniatures. Here are the remaining Rumor Engine teasers that have yet to be unveiled by Games Workshop.
Unsolved Rumor Engines From 2022:
September 13th, 2022: Sneaky Spider Slashers
This is clearly a spider’s head! That means a clear likely release for either one of two AoS factions. Gloomspite Gits and their spider riders or Chaos and their Spider Cult that was spotlighted in Warcry as a Warband. That said, we really hope it’s Gitz, as they need the help and probably even a rework soon!
Unsolved Advent Engines From 2023:
Day 3: Krieg Making a Mine Field?
Well, the minefield part is pretty obvious, as the sign just straight-up says it! However, who would use it? Who are masters of trench warfare in 40k? It all points to Krieg!
Someone even said Sappers for Krieg on the official Facebook page, and GW answered, we like your style. This one seems more obvious than some previous rumors if you ask us.
Day 5: The Branch of Justice!
If you ask us, this has an AoS feel and, more specifically, looks a lot like something for the protectors of the forests. However, it is pretty generic and could always be something on the base of a Catachan model!
Day 6: New Skaven Plague Monks?
Well, it looks pretty obvious to be something for Nurgle, and GW even mentioned a sticky book. While it could always be Maggotkin, that arm and nails look much more like a rat to us!
Plus, they need an update badly, and maybe we’ll get a huge resurgence of Plague Monks!
Day 8: A Servo-Skull Appears
Well, this could obviously be for almost any Imperial unit… but we’ve seen a decent number of rumors for what looks to be Death Korps of Krieg! This could easily be the little companion to the command squad or even resting on his shoulder.
Obviously, Inquisitors do love their servo-skulls, so it could obviously be that.
Day 10: Space Elf Wings
Let’s be honest; this looks quite like something for Eldar or Drukhari! We’ve been hearing rumors for a long time about more new Eldar and even rumors of Drukhari. While some people are saying it’s going to be for the Exodites, and even though we’ve heard some rumors about it, we’re not sure if that’s coming any time soon.
Day 15: Death Korps of Krieg Get a New Banner
Well, we’re going to say this looks like a banner to us one way or the other, as these symbols look very Imperial! We’ve seen plenty of Death Korps of Krieg rumors and hints in the Advent Engine, so let’s start with the possibility of a banner for them.
Day 16: Spooky Potions
At first glance, this looks very much something like Nighthaunts to us! While it could be something else for the Plague Monks, the hand and arm are so thin that it seems a safe bet to be something for the undead.
Day 19: Nurgle Spice Rack of Plagues & Potions
Well, bells are a staple of Nurgle (both in rat and Maggotkin form), but the rest of those potions look deadly and most likely carry some plagues! Of course, this could also be something for the Nighthaunt faction, like a new character.
Day 23: A Last-Minute Gift
While we hope no one wants this for Christmas, the Skaven sure does like this sort of thing! Blue Scribes would fit Chaos Daemons well, but poison is always more of Nurgle’s speed. Of course, it could be a symbol for just death, making some spooky boys under Nagash another possibility.
Unsolved Rumor Engines From 2024:
January 9th, 2024: Pokemon Charmander Cross Over
Looking at this engine right away, we chuckled because it looks like Charmander’s tail! But seeing as copyright exists, this is probably a plant on a base like Catachan or a model like Sylvaneth!
January 16th, 2024: Big Necron Magical Energy
Looking at this bit right away, it looks like energy of some kind, with the two biggest possibilities being something magical and arcane in AoS or even some big Necron electricity!
March 19th 2024: Freshly Wetted Blade
Here’s the latest GW Warhammer Rumor Engine from Games Workshop. As usual, there are some interesting possibilities for what it could be!
Looking at this bit, we can see a well-crafted blade with some liquid on it, the two most likely being blood or poison. That means Vampires, Chaos, Aelves, and Skaven in AoS or The Old World are all likely here!
March 26th 2024: Homage To The Great Horned Rat
Here’s the latest GW Rumor Engine from Games Workshop. As usual, there are some interesting possibilities for what it could be!
Looking at this bit, we can see what would normally be a clear-cut Sylvaneth bit. But GW had this to say:
With a sizzling new edition of Warhammer Age of Sigmar on its way, there’s bound to be loads of cool miniatures just waiting to appear in the Rumour Engine. We’re expecting something ratty this time, but our success rate for predicting what comes out is hovering around 0%.
That means while Sylvaneth is on the table, GW is having some fun and throwing a bone in the direction of Skaven!
April 23rd, 2024: Daemon Engine Big Metal Claws
Here’s the latest Rumor Engine from Games Workshop. As usual, there are some interesting possibilities for what it could be!
This new engine bit looks quite a bit like some Daemon Engines we’ve seen before. We think it’s most likely a new model or perhaps a creative re-work of a certified classic needing an uplift.
Here’s the latest Rumor Engine from Games Workshop. As usual, there are some interesting possibilities for what it could be!
This new engine bit looks quite a bit like the energy on some of the larger Necron models or even some Seraphon minis!
May 7th, 2024: New Dragon, or Scaled & Spiked Again?
Looking at this engine, we are immediately reminded of plenty of beasts in AoS, such as Chaos, Squigs, Stormcast Dragons, and maybe even a new Lizardman! There is tons of potential here.
May 14th, 2024: Chaos Engines Walking
First, looking at this bit, we thought the joint looked familiar, but we were unable to locate it. Otherwise, it definitely looks like part of the model matching another rumor engine bit a few weeks ago! From the looks of it, a new Chaos Engine in 40k is most likely!
May 21st, 2024: The Future Looks Bright For Wizards!
First, looking at this bit, we thought of some easy options like terrain, Sisters of Battle, or even some new specialist warband for Warcry. After looking up some OG images from Warhammer Fantasy and even some video games, this looks a lot like the Bright Wizard Staves to us!
May 28th, 2024: Skully McBoxerton
First, looking at this bit, we thought of the recent Wintermaw set with the bandaged zombie-like Warband, but we think something like Inquisitors, or maybe even Sisters of Battle might be more likely. That could mean this skull might be some sort of “holy relic.”
The only aspect of this bit we can relate to Inquisitors is how unique each model is. That being said, a unique warband in any of the specialist games is also a super likely home for this bit in the future.
June 4th, 2024: GW’s Latest Caper Is Tough Nut To Crack
First, looking at this bit, we instantly thought of all the Skeletons, Zombies, and general undead nasties that are covered in tattered clothes. That being said, other factions and universes also present plenty of possibilities!
June 11th, 2024: This Rumor Engine Looks Familiar…
First, looking at this bit, we instantly thought of all the undead from Cursed City. That being said, other factions and universes also present plenty of possibilities, like Necromunda, Nighthaunt, or Soulblight Gravelords!
June 18th, 2024: More New Ad Mech Models?
First, looking at this bit, we instantly thought of all the flying units and mechanical horses that got added to the Adeptus Mechicus lineup. Then again, something in the Necromunda also seems like a great option too…
June 25th, 2024: The Bell Tolls For Nurgle
First, looking at this bit, we instantly notice that the light bell shape and the rivets look like the usual Nurgle marks. Then again, it could just be normal old rivets on an order mount! Who wouldn’t want new Griffin Knights or something?
July 9th, 2024: Dino Riders
First, looking at this bit, we instantly thought of lizards… It could be something else crazy like stone magic, but we think it is most likely something big like a Magamadroth, general Seraphon, or even Exodites for Aeldari in 40k!
July 16th, 2024: GW’s 3D Printer
Looking at this bit, we remembered the Fortress of Redemption! So this rumor engine is a near match to that, just in hologram or super tiny 3d printed model form. It could also be a backlit image like a movie theater.
July 23th, 2024: Birdman’s Fresh New Cape
Looking at this bit, we can clearly tell it’s just a cape! But that doesn’t make it any easier to place… It’s almost too generic. The bird feathers help a little bit, but not much! Hunters, something in the land of beasts, or Chaos in general all seem like easy options for what this may be.
July 30th, 2024: Warhammer Gets a New Toolbox
Whatever the case, we can’t wait to see what Games Workshop has in store when it’s finally revealed. Let’s check out what it could be and try to guess until then! Here’s the latest Rumor Engine from Games Workshop. As usual, there are some interesting possibilities for what it could be!
Looking at this bit, we can clearly tell it’s just a toolbox! But that hand is a little odd. It seems like another bit is missing or photoshopped out. That being said, the likely placements are Imperium, Votann in 40k, or maybe a crazy new Necromunda agent!
August 6th, 2024: Bucket Load of Skulls
Looking at this bit it’s pretty clear what it is, but that doesn’t help place it! This is a super generic one, making it hard to pinpoint. It seems to fit best for Death in AoS, but really it could be any faction, and even 40k too!
August 13th, 2024: New Imperium Tiny Tig Welder
Looking at this bit, it’s pretty clear what it is, which gives us many options in 40k! This can be a new Servitor, Ad Mech, Tech Marines, Guard, and even a curveball like Chaos Ad Mech if GW gets spicy with it, just to name a few!
August 20th, 2024: New 40k Boomstick
Looking at this bit, it’s a bit odd, but most of the options are in 40k! This can be a new Votann, or Ad Mech most likely, but a curveball like Necromunda or Kill Team is also possible!
August 27th, 2024: 40k BERSERK Sword?
Looking at this bit, it is very clearly a sword, one with interestingly sharp angles… While we might like to see a giant sword like the one from BERSERK, but it’s almost like a usually-sized one for Eldar, Necrons, or a new Judiciar-style model! Of course, as with anything, off-the-wall specialist game warbands might sneak in too!
Looking at this bit, it is very clearly a bladed weapon with ridges clearly designed to cause bleeding, and even covered in it! Two super easy placements for this are Soulblight Gravelords and a new Khaine worshiper. Aelves/Eldar Khaine worshipers are ever so slightly more likely because at this time most Gravelords seem to prefer smooth-edge curved blades!
September 10th, 2024: Hot Fire New Weapon
Looking at this bit, it is very clearly a bladed weapon with ridges that seem to imitate fire! Two options that immediately came to mind are Orks and Necromunda, where gangs make do with what they can!
Looking at this bit, it is very clearly an arm reaching out of a pool or portal! Options that immediately came to mind are Chaos, Aelves, Necrons, specialist games, and pretty much anything where liquid is common too!
September 24th, 2024: Spittin’ Hot Fire
Looking at this bit, it is very clearly a muzzle on a new flamethrower primed and ready to spit flames! As for which faction and game system it goes with, that’s much more open-ended, and pretty much anything goes. The faction most known for flamers is Sisters of Battle, so that’s a safe bet!
October 1st, 2024: Warhammer Gold Digger
Looking at this bit, it is very clearly a new rock drill of some kind! As for which faction and game system it goes with, that’s much more open-ended but pretty guaranteed to be in Warhammer 40k or a specialist game. Leagues of Votann are the most likely faction, so that’s a safe bet!
October 8th, 2024: New Emperor’s Children Arm Blade
Looking at this bit, it is very clearly a new weapon of some kind! As for which faction and game system it goes with, at first, we thought Soulblight, Seraphon, or Tyranids… But if you look at the right side, the tubing looks like most of the tubes on Chaos Space Marine miniatures! With the new Emperor’s Children still looming, we think this is clearly for them!
October 15th, 2024: Necron Lazer Beam Generators
Looking at this bit, it seems like some Necron energy, and the angular housing adds to that feel, too. That being said, Orks have some wild technology and Seraphon has also had models with a similar energy effect.
October 22nd, 2024: Orks Going Down To Bullet Town
Looking at this bit, it is clearly a magazine with rounds in it, and the minimal housing gives it a very ork-y feel. That being said, we can’t currently find a perfect match. Plus, it does look pretty clean, so maybe a curveball reveal is incoming. On the other hand, what’s an Orktober without an Ork teaser?
October 29th, 2024: Magic 40k Crystal Ball
This engine is quite a bit tougher than recent ones, but at least we know it’s more than likely to be in the 40k range. The lack of iconography and distinct designs like Ork metal or Drukhari and Chaos spikey bits, make the most likely candidate Imperium/Space Marines!
November 5th, 2024: More New Chaos
This engine is super simple, but that doesn’t mean it’s an easy placement. Two main possibilities came to mind: Chaos in 40k, like Night Lords and Death. Chaos in both AoS and 40k could easily have this bit, but we’ve also seen similar armor in Death for AoS as well!
