War Council™ is a presentation of White Metal Games™ and airs twice a month.  Unlike many gaming centered podcasts, our show focuses exclusively on HOBBY.  No mathhammer or GT/Meta game talk here.  We talk to industry professional about painting, sculpting, 3D printing and casting models, kit bashing, and more!  Caleb Dillon is the Owner of White Metal Games.

Episode 38 is Here!

In this episode, WMG interviews Brandon Minor, a resident painter from Frontline Gaming (you know, the guys behind the ITC and Fat Mats).Brandon is one of their many artists and puts out some fantastic models each month.  He’s possibly the fastest artist I’ve ever spoken with.  Oh, and did I forgot to mention that he’s color blind!  That’s right, Brandon sees in a ‘greyscale’ of color, so to speak.  But that hasn’t stopped him from pumping out fantastic looking models, month after month!  Brandon is an underdog story if ever there was one.  We also provide some links to his work in the show notes, so you can see the proof is in the pudding.

On the second half of the show, we discuss color theory, bum, bum, bum!  Cue dramatic music.  Actually, it’s not as bad as all that.  We teach you color theory 101, the basics of the wheel, warm vs cold colors, contrasting and complimentary colors, and more.  We discuss which colors look closer and those which look further away and how you can use that to your advantage.  We talk about how to work with color theory to do things like bringing out your shadows, bring up your highlights, and make your minis really pop on the table.

We also talk about our new Display Board projects.  This is a new, premium service we are offering moving forward that will give tournament players like something extra they’ve been looking for to make their armies stand out.

For November, WMG is offering 8% off labor on any ‘TANK’ commission til Thanksgiving.

Next time on the show we’ll be discussing our new Business Mentoring service!  For new painters looking to make their business stand out, sage advice from a service that has been around the block might be just the thing to elevate your studio.
