Warhammer 10th edition 40k meta lists are shifting again after the WCW as we take a look at the latest army factions on top for Monday, December 2nd, 2024.
Meta Monday 40k Army Lists, December 2, 2024
The Warhammer 40k 10th edition meta is experiencing significant changes in both army lists and tactics this Monday, and we’re here for it!
First up, the absolutely massive (205 player) Leicester 40k Super Major, followed by a more approachable (42 Player) Heroes Of The Mid Table Fall GT 2024. With a literal new detachment every day this month and new codexes on the horizon, the 40k Meta Mondays are wild right now for every faction.
Ben Jones – Genestealer Cult
Ben’s winning Biosanctic Genestealer Cults army list from the Leicester event is going to hit you in the face with signposts; let’s break down what it does.

Almost every Biosanctic list leads off with the devastating Patriarch with Biomorph Adaptation, increasing its already powerful 5 (+1 in Biosanctic if it charged) attack 6-2-2 profile to 6-3-3. The Patriarch and Genestealer unit are effective into nearly any target in the game given their volume of swings and the devastating wounds the leader provides. Gene-twisted Muscle (1CP) will also give +1 to wound against monsters and vehicles, making even the most durable of units fearful.
Next comes three units of Aberrants led by Abominants in most Biosanctic lists. Abominants not only swing a Las-Cannon (4 attacks at 12-2-D6+1), but they also stand up on a 2+ AND have access to Saintly Paroxysm (1CP) to explode for 2D3 mortals on a 2+ a unit that kills them in combat. You’ll be pulling your hair out trying to remove these guys.
After the first wave of muscle is dealt with, most players will find themselves still in a hole, due to GSC’s ability to get units back from their Cult Ambush rule. If that wasn’t enough, this list is full of battleline units with deep strikes and other squads that can be thrown away like garbage just to score points. they put pressure on you and never let you up, which is why GSC is the top army currently in the 40k meta Monday!

Seeing two GSC lists taking the top spot at different events across the globe from each other might be disconcerting at first until you look at the vastly different approaches they take to winning in this Meta Monday 40k army list breakdown! These lists share almost nothing in common, and that’s nice to see.
Starting off, Stu’s list is a wall of dudes (and some dudes on bikes). If I counted correctly, it’s 75 bodies; remember, they come back on a dice roll and ten hulls! The overwhelming amount of OC will make it hard to control primary against this list since they’re also all equipped with flamers if you try to get near them with typical battleline units.
The Vehicles and Jackals (Mounted and also “Sticky” for scoring objectives) also get double OC from the Outlander Claw detachment. This unit can throw nearly infinite trash at you, and it will probably still control the objective after you swing back if you don’t wipe the entire unit (or Rockgrinder).
Lastly, the tricks in the army are extensive, Ridgerunners and Jackals can reactive move, Rockgrinders and Trucks can get -1D to be extra durable, while the ridge runners and jackals can get a 4+ Invulnerable save. If all of those weren’t enough to make you pull your hair out, Outlander can also “uppy downy” a vehicle or Jackals squad.
These guys won’t do overwhelming damage like you’re used to from GSC, but they’ll dominate primary and die a lot slower than you’d expect. Best to get some practice into the list if you think you might be seeing it!
As we can see, the Warhammer 40k meta is shifting like a Necron on a sugar rush, and the Genestealer Cult is stealing the spotlight—or at least the last slice of pizza at your game night.
With the emergence of these crafty lists and cunning tactics, one thing’s for sure: the battlefield is about to get a whole lot spicier. Remember that the key to staying ahead in the game is adaptability—and maybe a solid stash of snacks.
It’s always exciting to see how players innovate and adapt to make the top Warhammer 40k 10th Edition meta Monday army lists. Innovation is clearly not dead, and the best time to try that new idea is right now. Especially with the new Warhammer rules changes from the Balance Dataslate and Munitorium Points Updates.
