Moving on from the meta-defining Las Vegas Open, many players are pulling tech from those army lists while still continuing to innovate. Today, we will take a look at what worked for players at the Warhammer World’s 40k Grand Tournament (Nottingham, England) and the Dark Sphere February 40k GT (London, England).
So, if you were playing 40k in the UK, this one’s for you! Regardless of location, though, with a new detachment every day in December and several new codexes already for 2025, the 40k Meta Mondays have been wild latelty for every faction in the 10th Edition.

Stephen Box – Adeptus Custodes Shield Host
Stephen has been perfecting his Adeptus Custodes prowess with this archetype for a while now, having run it not long ago at LVO. This list isn’t your typical Custodes, forgoing the Calladius and Warden keystones we’ve seen for Allarus, Vertus Praetors, and Venatari!
Starting with the Allarus Custodians, you’ll see this is a Juiced Up Custodes “Terminator” profile. Then datasheet ability gives it rerolls to wound against nearly every datasheet in the game (Character, Monster, Vehicle)! These guys slam and can get slammed. They also use Up Down once a game to set the lightning-fast tone.
Next is a Datasheet we see popping in and out of Custodes lists: the Venatari. This is another super fast Custodes-level body that gets a free Rapid Ingress off its datasheet. Plus, they can also stack multiple Rapid Ingresses in the same turn to really overload an opponent caught napping on their screens.
Lastly, the list is rounded out by speedy chaff-clearing bikes that easily win any small skirmish. The Praetors got a little bit of a glow-up not long ago, with increases to their profiles and a Toughness bump to T7, which is a pretty big breakpoint. The bikes will keep people honest and fly around the table while the rest of the army can scalpel out flanks from Deep Strike.

If you’re unfamiliar with the Bridgehead strike, here’s your introduction to another of the top Warhammer 10th edition meta lists.
A staple to all successful Bridgehead lists we’ve been seeing is the three Command Squads stapled to three Scions Squads, 2+ Taurox, and you go from there. The Scion units will do absolutely absurd damage with their rerolls, sustained hits, and 14 special weapons shots; very few targets can survive a barrage from these guys dropping down on them.
I’m sure The Tank Commanders will soon be replaced by Dorn Commanders, but that doesn’t discount their efficacy, as Gustavo was able to shoot on death his way to a GT win!
Three indirect platforms also help force people out of hiding and add to Astra’s ability to pressure people into coming out into their overwhelming firepower. Aquilons have taken hits since their initial release but are still rounding out most Astra lists for precision strikes, screening pressure, and just doing some actions.
