Games Workshop is kicking off the new year with a teaser for the Daemons of Khorne. Come take a look at some of the rules from the new Chaos Daemons codex.

Games Workshop has already previewed some of the new Chaos Daemons codex and today we’re getting a closer look at the Daemons of Khorne. Let’s check out some of their new rules and see what GW had to say about them.

Darkness is sweeping the 41st Millennium, and the mortal hordes of the Heretic Astartes are bolstered by legions of daemonic allies. Thanks to the Great Rift, the servants of the Chaos Gods have been pouring forth to devour reality in ever-greater numbers across the galaxy – so it’s about time they got a codex of their own! Codex: Chaos Daemons brings a raft of new ways to customise and play your Daemons army, offering particular rewards for those players who dedicate themselves to a single Chaos God.

While we’ve taken a look at the codex as a whole, this week, we’ll be looking into what each specific Chaos God can bring to the tabletop, starting with the Blood God, Khorne:

Khorne Locus of Rage

The Locus of Rage is going to allow Khorne Daemon Units to re-roll failed charge rolls in the Charge phase as long as they are within 6″ of a friendly model with Locus of Rage. This will help ensure you complete that much needed charge.

Khorne Armour of Scorn

Armour of Scorn is only available for Khorne Monster models. The armor will give the wearer the ability to deny one psychic power in each enemy Psychic phase, as well as a 4+ invulnerable save. This is extremely suiting of Khorne because we all know how much of a psykers he is.

Skullreaver

The Skullreaver teaser really didn’t reveal much except that it will replace the bearer’s axe, and it can only be taken on a Khorne Model with axe of Khorne, great axe of Khorne, or a daemonic axe. But no profile, just a note from GW saying it “is quite possibly one of the deadliest weapons in the entire game.”

Oblivious to Pain

Oblivious to Pain is going to help keep your much needed Warlord alive a little longer. You’ll roll a dice each time your Warlord loses a wound, and on a 6 your Warlord doesn’t lose that wound. Additionally, you’ll also be able to re-roll all failed hit and wound rolls made for it until the end of your next turn. You can feel the rage growing in Khorne armies everywhere.

These new rules are making Khorne seem like they are getting a very nice update with these new rules. But will it be enough? And what stats does the Skullreaper have that make it “quite possibly one of the deadliest weapons in the entire game”?

Chaos Daemons Codex

There’s a total of 24 Warlord Traits in the new codex, so we’re curious to see what Games Workshop will show us next. Make sure you’re checking back in with us for the latest updates.
