We unbox and build Forge World’s Primaris Space Marine Astraeus Super Heavy Space Marine Tank, and review it’s rules and size to other Imperial tanks!

Forge World’s super heavy tank is a large, impressive model that is perfect for any Imperium tank-based army…or as a fantastic centerpiece. The multi-part resin kit is rather large and detailed, with several options to build. Take a look at this quick overview of the tank itself then be sure to see the entire unboxing and review by pressing play on the video below!

Astraeus Super-heavy Tank £220

AstraeusSuperheavyTank01

An appropriately large and aggressive-looking model, this multi-part resin kit makes 1 Astraeus Super-heavy tank. It features 4 repulsor pods, 2 at the rear and 2 smaller ones at the front, configured to allow the Astraeus maximum manoeuvrability. These are connected to the 2 hull sections – the rear hull is dominated by the enormous twin macro-accelerator cannon, which extends along the entire length of the rear hull, with a detailed ammunition feed featured. Backing this up in terms of weaponry is a turret on the front hull, which can be equipped with twin heavy bolters or twin lascannon, and 2 sponson turrets which feature your choice of las-rippers or plasma eradicators. Included are 2 void shield projectors on their own mounts.

astraeus review

There are a lot of different components for this model but goes together in approximately 23 steps. The directions are color-coded for various weapons and are in decent detail. Each resin piece, from large to small, have great detail sculpted in. The pieces are very modular. The top turret is its own assembly but can have issues with tolerance.

Overall there were only a few gaps in the main body, especially on the bottom, but they can be filled easily. The model, for the most part, is fairly easy to put together and seems very well designed. Size-wise, it is slightly bigger than a Baneblade, much larger than the Repulser (shares some of the same technology as the Repulser), and absolutely dwarfs a Rhino.
