More Imperial Fists & Black Templars Codex Rumors

Both being Chapters of Dorn, the Black Templars and Imperial Fists were mentioned in a fresh batch of rumors. Check out the latest.

It looks like another rumor involving Black Templars and Imperial Fists has been spotted. However, this isn’t the first time we’ve heard about a Dorn Chapter getting support in some rumors. We covered the Fists in a post a little while ago. But now let’s check out the latest development.

Imperial Fists & Black Templars Rumors Emerge Together

Jumping right into the meat of the rumors, they have this to say:

  • A Box Set pitting Black Templars against Orks is coming.
  • A Black Templars new character is included in the Box Set along with a mini codex supplement.
  • Imperial Fist support will be trailing behind the Box Set’s release with a Primaris Lysander.

Seeing Marines pitted up against Xenos in a Box Set isn’t too far-fetched of an idea. We’ve already seen Wake the Dead and Tooth & Claw Box Sets appear around the time of different faction support waves. So what do you think could be in store for the Chapters of Dorn?

While we’ve already covered in great detail that it’s only a matter of time before we see Imperial Fist support in earlier posts, there was also a neat little surprise that was found inside the Psychic Awakening trailer.

You’re going to have to squint for this one, but looking at two Imperial ships spotted out of the Psychic Awakening trailer, it look like they’re carrying Fist and Templar Chapter symbols on their sides.

While the middle one has a circular white background and a black spot in the middle, there’s only one main Chapter out there that looks similar…The Fists.

As for the ship closer in the bottom right, it also has a white back drop with an easily distinguishable cross.

Imperial Fists & Salamanders Codex Books

Industry insiders have confirmed to us that the 7th and final Space Marine supplement is indeed Imperial Fists. Even Games Workshop may have let the squig out of the bag with the re-organization of its website to show separate sections for codex supplement products:

Remember that the Crimson Fists just got updated earlier in the year via the first Index Astartes White Dwarf Article.  They also do not seem to be getting their own section on the website.

However, judging by this there is a good chance that the Black Templars will be getting some attention in the Imperial Fists book.  Here’s what we know, and can assume, from the first four supplement waves to be announced by GW:

  • Each chapter seems to get a new primaris character, data card release, and upgrade sprue/decal sheet release.
  • Salamanders and “Fists” will release sometime in the fall according to Industry Insiders.
  • Each chapter has gotten its own Psychic discipline as well, that seems to “future-proof” them into the Psychic Awakening.
  • The final primaris units to be released at the Impulsor and the Infiltrator squads, most likely with the rumored Salmanders/ Fists release later this fall.

So are the Black Templars and Fists about to hit up the warp with a massive crusade fleet? Will GW be using that to support their updated release?
