Don’t look now but some of the key Space Marine units for most army lists are SOLD OUT on GW’s Webstore! Check out what units are red hot!
The meta has settled down with the new Space Marine supplements claiming the top brackets of tournaments. The top units among Chapters have already sold out and we could be seeing even more go out of stock once the Salamanders and Imperial Fist supplements drop. With that said, here are the units you’ll have to find somewhere else besides GW’s webstore.
Key Space Marine Units Sold Out At Games Workshop
Iron Hands have claimed the Repulsor Executioner as their star unit (sort-of), but they are good in almost any marine list as well. Meanwhile, Raven Guard Eliminators are the best in the business. As for the Thunderfire Cannon, every Space Marine Chapter can make full use out of two incredible Stratagems in-game.
Looking at the Repulsor Executioner, it’s surpassed its older brother, the Dedicated Transport Repulsor for sheer firepower. The Iron Hands adopted the tank in competitive play before the heavy-handed FAQ took their invuln from Feirros away (among other things). While they aren’t as good for Iron Hands now, they’re still most definitely a heavy-hitter for Marines across the board.
For Eliminators, these guys are absolutely brutal in Raven Guard lists. However, we’re still seeing one or two squads of these pop up in almost every Marine army. They’re a great value and are an awesome obligatory Heavy Support option for someone wanting to fit a Relic Leviathan into their list. These guys were first found in the Shadowspear Box Set. However, it looks like everywhere is sold out online for US customers at the very least.
Finally, the Thunderfire Cannon is just valuetown for anyone with extra CP to blow. This thing can shoot twice and even halve the movement of non-flying units when it shoots. Being another Heavy Support option, people also choose this as a space-filler to mitigate the Relic rule for Leviathans and kill two birds with one stone by taking a heavy map-control unit.
There are a few alternative models you can pick up to use for these guys however still.
GW’s Available To Order List Bigger Than Ever
On top of the hottest units in 40k being out of stock (and who knows when they’ll come back), GW’s Available to Order section is the longest we’ve ever seen it. With over 600 products only available through their webstore, it looks like they are cycling through units and keeping them out of stores more than ever.
The pace between new units releasing and older units getting surpassed is definitely picking up. However, it seems like all the new hotness sells out within a matter of days now.
The moral of the story these days seems to be, get it early, or you may have to wait…
What do you think about GW’s Supply and Demand scale? Would you like to see more “old” units come out from Available to Order and be found on shelves in stores?
