Mephiston is about to hit the tabletop with an incredible new Primaris model. Check out what was just revealed and is coming with Psychic Awakening Pt. 3!
Warhammer Community revealed an all-new Primaris Mephiston model. And it was sorely needed too. As Mephy is the first named Blood Angels character to cross the Rubicon Primaris, he’s setting the bar very high for everyone else.
Mark your calendars – Mephiston will be available to pre-order on the 30th of November, alongside the next chapter in the Psychic Awakening series, Blood of Baal!
Mephiston’s Primaris Model Finally REVEALED
It looks like we were right about the old artwork from way back in the day when we first saw Mephiston’s model teased. Take a closer look at the Chief Librarian of the Blood Angels in full Baal-Bustin’ glory!
Mephiston is the Chief Librarian of the Blood Angels Chapter of Space Marines, but his other title is the ominous-sounding Lord of Death. He was the first (and only) of his peers to master the Chapter’s curse – the Black Rage – gaining immense power and the admiration* of his brother Space Marines, even if some question whether the price was worth the prize. Now, he’s conquered death itself by crossing the Rubicon Primaris, making his title even more appropriate.
This model comes with two model poses. One with a plasma pistol and the other where he is wiping his mouth (like the artwork from above). What’s even more exciting is that he’s one of the best characters to pick from in Blood Angels. He’s made a ton of appearances in top ITC tournament tables throughout 8th edition.
Now that he’s hitting the table in an even more powerful form than before, he’ll probably be coming with a slightly-boosted stat line as well. We’ve seen most Primaris character crossovers gain +1 Attack and Wound so don’t expect anything super crazy. But those are both still incredibly useful.
Deeper Look: What Could the New Mephiston Look Like Statswise?
He could be M 7″ WS 2+ BS 2+ S5 T5 W6 A5 Ld9 Sv 2+. All in all, now that we know he is a part of the Psychic Awakening wave, it wouldn’t be surprising to see him get a whole new table of psychic powers as well. However, it depends ultimately where GW wants to go with it. Mephiston costs 160 pts right now. And depending on how GW changes him if/when he becomes a Primaris Marine, we could see him shoot up somewhere just under 200 pts.
What do you think about the new Primaris Mephiston model? Would you rather have him wiping his mouth like the artwork or him holding a plasma pistol?
