Black Templars are the next Chapter to get a boost from GW. Looking ahead into the next book for Psychic Awakening, Here’s what they’re getting!
Warhammer Community unveiled some of the rules for the Black Templars Chapter inside Psychic Awakening: Faith & Fury. Take a look at what was just previewed and let us know if you think the Templars will be making a splash into the meta as well.
Black Templars Rules Spotted Coming Inside Faith & Fury!
To get you caught up on their latest Chapter Tactic, the Black Templars can reroll any dice as part of a charge roll and have a 5+++ FNP.
Editor’s note: the FNP is only against mortal wounds.
Black Templars Work Off The Assault Doctrine
For Black Templars, their main goal is to get into combat. And when they roll a 6 to hit in the fight phase while the Assault Doctrine is active, it causes an automatic wound. You don’t have to roll a wound roll. This just means that it’s all the more important to have a Chapter Master or Chaplain nearby.
Black Templars Warlord Trait & Special Litany
Your Warlord can use his extremely hard head to deny a Psychic Power out of existence. Plus, you can add 1 to the total. This guy even denies better than most Librarians out there!
Because the Black Templars lean more toward Chaplains and their litanies over Librarians’ mind games, the Black Templars are getting their own tree of Litanies for Chaplains to choose from. Getting a bonus attack on the charge on top of Shock Assault can really make an enemy unit crumple like a paper bag. Especially with the combined potential of rolling more 6’s to hit!
Black templars Still Love Their LRCs
Taking a closer look at one of the Stratagems that was previewed, this is a new kind of support to an older, non-Primaris vehicle… The Land Raider Crusader. The Black Templars are responsible for making the LRC and it only makes sense for them to have some kind of in-game bonus with them.
This Stratagem turns off Overwatch from an enemy unit and makes them -1 to hit when fighting back!
Black Templar Relic Revealed
The Sword of Judgement is a serious upgrade to a regular power sword as it hits like a Thunder Hammer and has a nice little +1 Strength bonus. This thing will be a brutal character killer against anything sitting in the T3-T5 range.
With the Black Templars Doctrine finally revealed how do you think they’ll perform on the tabletop? Do you need to see more Stratagems and Relics before you can say you want to play the faction?
