New Death Guard Warhammer 40k Rules REVEALED

Two new Warhammer 40k rules stratagems for the Death Guard were spotted in GW’s Conquest subscription! Don’t the latest for Nurgle and Chaos!

Coming from Chapter Master Valrak on YouTube, he mentioned that a source brought him the new rules for the Death Guard found inside the Conquest subscription from GW.

It’s also worth pointing out that the Death Guard are still up for new rules in a future Psychic Awakening supplement, so it is possible that these stratagems may be part of that release in the future.

Currently, it looks like they are only available from Warhammer Conquest (for now).

Warhammer Conquest is a subscription that’s designed to build up new hobbyists collection. From paints to brushes and miniatures, you’ll get a small helping of hobby supplies in each helping.  The releases for 40k are mostly Primaris and Death Guard centric, with rules and content for the All-Primaris Silver Templars chapter being offered at regular intervals in addition to the subscription as well.

There have also been new Death Guard models in Space Marine Heroes Series 3 that were originally released in the Asian market, but they did not come with new rules.

Along with the new Silver Templars rules that were spotted, two Stratagems for the Death Guard are here too!

  • Dissolver Spores is a 2CP “set-up” strat. Meaning you’ll want to shoot at a unit with this guy first. Giving an enemy unit -1 to all their saves until the next shooting phase is nasty. Especially when you can turn off the save from an Ork Boyz unit entirely or make a Knight extra squishy.
  • For Foetid Mire, if you have an enemy unit standing close enough to you, you can give them a -2 penalty to charge and advance. This is really only useful if you have a cheap throw-away unit that’s near the opponent’s melee unit that you don’t want to bypass your chaff. It has its uses but man…positioning is key here.

And there you have it! Overall, it looks like Silver Templars have the Ultramarines Chapter tactics stamped onto their datasheets and Death Guard are getting a very very slight rules bonus with the main power being drawn from dissolver spores.

What are your thoughts on the new Death Guard rules? Are you a subscriber to GW’s Conquest?
