Ah, who doesn’t have some fond memories of The Mighty Ducks? Well, whether you want it or not, a reboot is coming to Disney+.
Some people love reboots, others hate them. But it looks like we have no choice in the matter because Disney has been on the remake train lately. With things like Willow getting a series and all the old cartoon movies thrown in there as well, a classic like this was only a matter of time. But hey, stop being such a grinch and let a new generation enjoy it.
The new movie will take place in a new season with a new team. Looks like Emilio will have to reach deep into his heart once again and show these kids the truth of being a team. This also is going to be a series and not a movie. But just like with Willow, they seem to want to turn movies into entire series to get a little more juice from the squeeze. Let’s check it out!
The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers – Rebooting Childhood
The good news is the team is going to be the underdogs once again. The first kid gets cut from the team and then he bands together with the other outcasts to start his own team.
Of course, who else could coach such an underdog team other than the great Emilio Estevez?
The trailer is brought to us by IGN and is fairly short but it does hit the nostalgia pretty hard. We just hope some of the old cast will make appearances, maybe to help train the kids! The series will be dropping on March 26th, so we still have a little to wait on this one.
We don’t care how long we really have to wait, as long as it’s good!
