This 55 Point Sisters of Battle Canoness is a Melee Monster!

sister-walpaper lgBy combining some stratagems, relics, and the Order of Our Martyred Lady, a 55 point Canoness is a melee monster- check it out!

People have been looking through the new Charadon book and found some interesting combos. One of the most interesting ones might just be the Canoness melee bomb. She can dish out an insane number of mortal wounds and can one-shot all kinds of big baddies, like characters, vehicles, and entire units of high wound minis.

This isn’t really something that you’d want to run all the time, but if you pulled it off, man it would be awesome!

This 55 Point Sisters of Battle Canoness is a Melee Monster!

CanonessThe combo is very interesting and is very specific, but if you can pull it off, that’s a lot of damage! Let’s look at the combo and what you have to take:

  • Our Martyred Lady
  • Exploding 6’s in combat
  • 1 CP for a second Warlord Traot
  • Righteous Rage (re-roll hits and wounds in CC)
  • Martyr’s Strength (gain S and A when losing wounds)
  • Blade of Sacrifice (take wounds to turn wounds in cc into 2MW instead of regular damage)
  • Power Sword

So, she has to be from Our Martyred Lady, that way you can take the needed Warlord traits. Plus you have to spend one CP to get the second Warlord Trait. Technically then she costs 55 points plus a CP. For wargear, you give her the Blade of Sacrifice and a power sword.

Sisters of Battle Charadon 3So how does it work? Before you fight, you sacrifice 2W then you are doing 2 mortal wounds instead of actual wounds. Against something with T6 (which is more than most things), you will be hitting on 2’s rerolling plus with the exploding 6’s you should on average get 7 hits.

Then because she lost the wounds, you will be S6 (also why you got the extra attacks), meaning you will be wounding on 4’s rerolling. So an average of 5ish wounds on something T6. Meaning over 10 mortal wounds! In one round of combat, she could be able to kill anything with 10 mortal wounds outright.

Damage Output

Canoness VeridyanSo even if you aren’t targeting just something big, she can dish out an insane amount of mortal wounds to anything! She could kill 6 Intercessors in one turn or 14 Guardsmen, but we’re not sure her nearly dying is worth 14 Guardsmen… Still, almost killing a vehicle in one hit is also pretty sweet as well, so maybe there are more uses than originally thought.

Plus, this doesn’t only have to happen once per game, if you have a Hospitaller or Emperor’s Grace Blessing, you can heal those wounds up and do it again. If you manage to get this off twice in one game, the amount of damage you’re getting from those 55 points and 1 CP is just insane!

Are you going to be running this combo? What’s your favorite surprise strat?
