5 Rumored Plastic Vehicles Coming to Horus Heresy

horus-heresy-icon-logo-wal-hor-titleWith the line rumored to be moving to plastic, here are the plastic vehicles and tanks coming to Horus Heresy that we’ve heard.

We’ve actually seen one of these kits verified by GW, so there’s plenty of hope for the rest. Especially considering they all come from the same rumor source, we think we’ll see them all. We also have some rumors for release dates, so we have an idea of when to actually expect them.

Let’s check out all the kits!

5 Rumored Plastic Vehicles Coming to Horus Heresy

Let’s start with the one GW has actually confirmed via Warhammer Community.

The mighty Land Raider is a design that has stood the test of time ever since Arkhan Land dug it out of the catacombs on Mars – but what’s a Legion Praetor to do when their prized Terminator squads can’t quite squeeze into its armoured hold? They reach for the Spartan Assault Tank – and now, with a stunning new plastic kit, you can too.

Land Raider spartan

Also known as the Land Raider Spartan, this armoured carrier was designed* to punch through the most overwhelming enemy defences and deliver a knock-out blow of massed Astartes infantry.

It looks a lot like you would expect, but that look is timeless and awesome! The best part though? It’s plastic!

When not carting Space Marines about, the Spartan is also an effective vehicle-killer in its own right, armed with a whopping eight lascannons. Grouped into two quad-linked arrays, these lay down accurate bursts of firepower strong enough to crack open any enemy hull.

You can even swap out the heavy bolter for two more lascannons! So if you need to punch through enemy armor, this should be able to do the trick with 10, that’s right, 10 lascannons! Then, the gunner can have a ton of options as well, so plenty to choose from.

Land Raider spartan 3

It became a common assault vehicle during the Great Crusade, where its nigh-impervious chassis could shrug off regular anti-tank weapons as it ferried up to 26 Legionaries – or 13 Terminators – into the fray, with a surprising turn of speed for its size.

Kratos Battle Tank

Next up, we have another tank that was sort of confirmed by GW via Warhammer Community.

Scicarian

The Horus Heresy is the game to play if you love war machines clashing on the grandest possible scale. From the Spartan Assault Tank to the Legion Sicaran Battle Tank, mighty vehicles were mainstays on the front lines throughout the Heresy, giving treadheads plenty to enjoy. But we don’t recognise this tank – what could it be?

Here you can also see a pintle gun mount on the top turret hatch as well.

Rumor is that may be the fabled Kratos Battle Tank mentioned in Horus Heresy Book 8 as the precursor to the Predator tank. Since it bears more than a passing resemblance with the Sicaran, perhaps it will a dual box kit with the Sicaran tank that recently went on last chance to buy over on Forge World as well…

Sicaran & Kratos Tank Possibilities

These new rules rumors were spotted on Imgur, and show what appears to be the Kratos with the same weapon configuration as the mystery tank from the HH trailer! Again, they are from the phase 3 playtest which seems to match the other rules rumors we have seen already, so they, however, could change once they are finalized…

kratos battle tank horus heresy rules.jpgFrom the looks of it this tank can have a ton of loadouts, and as we mentioned above the weapon locations seem to match the tank in the trailer exactly.

We also recently heard this rumor as well that seems to support this document:

Most vehicles are now squadrons, including Deredeo Talons, Sikarans, Whirlwinds (including Scorpius), all Sicaran variants, Predators (in up to 5), Cerberus, and Typhons

Plus according to other sources, the Kratos is a new release kit that will be coming after the rumored release of the Horus Heresy starter box this June.

Deimos Pattern Rhino

Deimos Pattern Rhino 2Considering this was taken off the Forge World store, it most likely means they took it off as a way to get it prepped for plastic. Even though it’s been a while since it was in the store, we saw the rumored starter box quite a while ago. Also, according to the rumors, we’ve heard this will be released in August, so really not that far off now.

Deimos Pattern RhinoPlus if they’re making the regular version, we expect them to follow up with all the kits like this for the command version.

Deimos Pattern Predator

deimos predator 2This is still available on the webstore, but that doesn’t mean too much. As the rumors have this coming out a little later in August. So, again, just like the Rhino, there are a lot of variants involved.

deimos predatorThis is the Executioner variant that we might not see right away, or the plastic kit could actually just come with all the bits to make both variants and maybe we’ll be able to magnetize to make multiple kits out of one.

Deimos Pattern Vindicator

Deimos VindicatorLast but not least, we have the Vindicator. This kit doesn’t have a rumored release date quite yet, so we could either see this at the very beginning or the very end. We’re really not sure, but still, the longest out we’ve heard of is September for a release date, so not terrible honestly.

Deimos Vindicator 2Just like with all the Deimos patterns, there is more than one variant. This means there is a chance we see more than one plastic kits for new tanks in the Horus Heresy or just everything in one combo box potentially.
