There are not a lot of Warhammer 40k codex books left to release for 9th, as the 10th Edition reboot looms large in the distance…

Releases for Warhammer 40k have been picking back up, and there are not too many more codex books left to be released if Games Workshop follows the release patterns they established in the late 7th and 8th editions.

Let’s take a look at what could be coming next, as they have already squeezed in a new faction with the Leagues of Votann into the mix.

All The New 40k Codex Releases On The Way To 10th Edition

Taking a look back to the start of 8th Edition in 2017 perhaps we can see some pattern in how the 9th Edition codex release lineup will go?

8th Edition 40k tallied 32 total Codex/supplement releases broken down into 17 Imperium, 5 Chaos, and 8 Xenos making a smooth 32 books for the full lineup.

However, 6 of that Imperium books were just supplements for Space Marines (shown above).

What Codex Books Are Next For Warhammer 40k:

After that? It’s hard to say mainly because they haven’t released too many teasers yet. Still, there are plenty of rumors for new Chaos books and IG just needs a book so badly.

Plus know we know we can add in Leagues of Votann into the mix, and most like sub out World Eaters as they will most likely be farther off, or potentially the first out of the gate for 10th Edition in fall of 2023.

So with that, let’s look at what is still to come:

Sure this isn’t an exact order but it could be close, with rumors saying look for the Space Marines 2.0 reboot to anchor the fall release block.

Plus we have also heard rumors that the 10th Edition Warhammer 40k Starter box set may be Tyranids and Space Marines for the Summer 2023 blockbuster release cycle.
