Cursed City is taking over this month, as both the new October GW free mini of the month and promotional coin are about the box!
The free miniature and coin promotion have been going on for over a year. To participate, head to your nearest GW store, and if you spend $100, you get the coin (while supplies last).
But all you have to do to get the free figure is just walk in and ask, well, while supplies last, that is… And considering this will be random minis from Cursed City, you may want to get there early since the minis’ price, value, and size will vary greatly.
Then, there will also be free Stormcast, Space Marines, and Lord of the Rings for new players. You can bring a friend to the store, and they can grab a free mini, paint it up, and even play a game.
Warhammer Community just unveiled the latest new coin and mini so if you want the coin, save up at least $100 to spend.
They do one of these promotions monthly, and the coins are generally based on that month’s new releases. Also, if you collect at least six of the coins, you can score a nice little binder to hold them in.
Let’s look at the most recent coins, then jump into the new stuff. However, if you want to see all the previous months, check those out here!
October Free Mini of the Month & Citadel Coin
To celebrate the re-release of this action-packed cooperative game, you’ll also be able to pick up a free Cursed City miniature at your local Warhammer store.
You can grab one for yourself from the 8th of October – ask the friendly staff in your store about how you can get one when they’re available.
As you can see, if you can grab one mini from the box, you can either get a skeleton, rat, all the way up to characters, and maybe even Radukar the Wolf. So, if you want a bigger mini, you chances may be better if you get there on October 8th.
October Coin
You can also pick up October’s collectible coin of the month, which is also Cursed City-themed. Sadly, you won’t be able to use it to buy your freedom if you’re captured by Gorslav the Gravekeeper. It’s available from the 1st of October. Ask the store staff how you can claim this month’s coin.
The coin is pretty cool, and if you’re planning on spending $100 in October might as well grab this when you go!
Free AoS, 40k, & LotR Minis
Warhammer Quest: Cursed City is a great way to introduce friends into the worlds of Warhammer. If they’re ready to take their next steps, bring them into your local Warhammer store, where they can get their first miniature for free – a choice of a Space Marine or a Stormcast Eternal. They can learn how to paint their miniature, and have their first game of Warhammer 40,000 or Warhammer Age of Sigmar.
So if you bring a friend to your local Warhammer Store, they can get a miniature to hobby on too! However, according to this, introductory sessions are not available in North America and Asia. So, we don’t know if this also means no free mini or not, but just call your local store and ask about bringing in a friend and if they can get a free mini or not.
To celebrate the 20th anniversary of the release of The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers™ and the current buzz around all things Middle-earth, new hobbyists will soon have the chance to pick up a free Warrior of Minas Tirith miniature in store. Once assembled, you’ll be able to sit down and paint your new model, and you’ll even be able to play your first game of the Middle-earth Strategy Battle Game in some stores. Check with your local store manager for details.
Again, for Lord of the Rings, it looks like you can get a free mini if you are not in North America or Asia again. They do say to check with your local store for details, so you might still be able to grab a free mini in these regions even if they don’t have the other perks of painting and such.
