Fed Up with Endless Complaints About 10th Edition 40k? You’re Not Alone!

10th-Edition-warhammer-40k-complaints-datasheets-index-cardsWarhammer 40k is poison if you listen to the endless complaints by YouTubers and Facebook Groups about the new 10th Edition rules.

Suppose you belong to a few Facebook Groups (especially faction-specific ones). In that case, you can’t scroll for more than a few seconds without seeing tons of people complaining about the new 10th Edition Rules.

At this stage, we feel like these toxic YouTubers and FB groups should perhaps look at the positives because this is only turning people off from the game based on information we don’t fully know.

The good news is that Games Workshop has realized that there has been at least one glaring problem with the Datacards and already moved to fix it before the official launch of 10th.

Note: There’s also a very slight update to the Deathwatch datasheets posted earlier this week. After field tests, our resident tech-magos deemed Hellfire Rounds to be a little too dangerous on certain units, so that Stratagem has been tweaked. It now does not affect weapons with the Devastating Wounds rule. You can download the updated Index here.

Straight up y’all, we don’t know enough at this stage to be this upset about 10th Edition 40k! Basically, we’re still in preview mode.

Tired of YouTubers & FB Groups Complaints About 10th Edition 40k? Us Too!

YouTubers complaining about 10th Edition 2Yes, this is most likely a typo, as right now, damage one weapons can’t hurt this.

Look at it from this perspective, you’re a new or returning player checking out 10th, and all you see are negative comments about what this unit can do or what that one can’t do; why would you play again?

Toxic YouTubers and FB group comments are ruining hobbyists’ motivation with constant negative takes on the rules, OP combos, piling on existing issues, etc.

Nothing about 10th is certain yet. Obviously, there will be some typos from GW; they put out hundreds and hundreds of datacards. GW will certainly fix these and add some clarification with a FAQ at some point. Then, we will be getting a GT pack and points preview on Friday, June 16th as well.

So maybe, some of these things will all make sense when we get the points…

Why Would You Say Something So Controversial Yet Brave

There is another option; GW made weapons and rules different for different armies on purpose! While we can’t say what they will and won’t do, we assume they wouldn’t let these typos sit around incorrectly for a long time.

Some things in the cards have already been moved to Legends (so GW did not spend a long time on them); there are obviously OP combos, and something like the Redemptor -1 Damage will most likely get fixed.

Or it won’t because GW wanted this model to have this ability.

YouTubers complaining about 10th EditionAs we said, there seem to be some mistakes, as everyone is complaining about the Wulfen Hammer, as it has the same stats (other than fewer attacks) as the Wulfen Claws. However, you do get a Storm Shield with it, but this could easily be a typo by GW! YouTubers complaining about 10th Edition 5Then, there are some differences in weapons between Chaos and Space Marines; this could be an easy typo fix, or maybe GW wants it to be this way, as, remember, we don’t have points yet!

Perhaps a good expenditure of hobby energy, instead of complaining about every little thing, is to go paint up some new battleline units and point out the good that we’ve seen!

Sure discussing the rules previews are good, but keep in mind, as of right now, we still don’t have points;  a rumored day 1 FAQ, and the Chapter Approved tournament rules yet.

With the way GW playtests, sure, there are bound to be some typos and broken combos, but at the rate at which they addressed things with the 9th Edition Balance Dataslates GW is bound to be on top of things when 10th Edition officially launches.
