More New Space Marine Releases Go Missing

missing-space-marines-releases-warhammer-40kWhen Games Workshop put out their new two-week pre-order for Space Marine releases, one box set that had been previewed was curiously missing…

GW recently did a massive wave of 10th Edition new releases for Space Marines, but the Scouts were missing from the list. However, we heard rumors not so long ago that the Striking Scorpions will be getting a new kit in a Kill Team box.

Speaking of Kill Team, the new Space Marine Heroes 4 blind boxes that were announced going on sale September 15th, 2023,  are still missing from store shelves (as of this writing.)

Before we get into it, these are rumors, so take them with as much salt as you need, but this seems like a proper enemy for them to fight!

RUMORS: Where Are the Missing Space Marines Releases & Scouts?

Back in July, we had heard that there was a rumored Kill Team box on the way before the curious teaser appeared from Games Workshop.

Catachans and Eldar box

Word I got from a local GW Rep is that there is a very reasonable chance of Catachans vs Aeldari coming out in a Killteam box. Add copious amounts of salt here, but the vibe I had was that he’s seen it. I didn’t dig too deep as I’m not interested in getting anyone into trouble. He mentioned the Krieg box, how well it did, and lightly hinted that it would be a long those lines.

I’ve got my fingers crossed and hope it’s true! Anyone else heard anything? I remember some talk a while back about a possible Aeldari striking scorpions refresh so maybe related?

While the original rumors were pretty solid on Striking Scorpions being in the box, but who they were fighting was a bit of a mystery. Some hobbyists wished for new Catachans, but now, with Scouts missing from the main release, it seems like GW is saving them for something else, and this box seems like the perfect place to drop them.

Then in July Valrak weighed in on the matter.

Scouts vs Scorpions, trust me 🙂

I’m expecting the new Scouts to be heavily based on the BT Neophyte models. Any more snippets? I dunno.. shoulder-mounted heavy bolter?

Mohican haircuts?

Hearing a Couple of Snipers and Heavy Bolters in there, guess we’ll see soon 🙂

To start, he made these rumors before the reveals and was close to the style of the models. So it could be that it is looking more and more like these rumors are true. They also fit the aesthetic of Kill Team, as they are specialists, and this would also allow GW to put them behind the Kill Team paywall for a while.

With how many people were mad when they were leaving the range of models, they might get bought up quickly. However, while these are all rumors, GW themselves put out the video that started all the speculation.

The New Eldar Kill Team Video That Started it All

Judging by the (Predator Movie Monster-like) noise at the end and the Jungle-like depiction, this could be the long-awaited introduction of new plastic Striking Scorpions or even Exodite Eldar models.

Either way, this is a preview for the next edition of Kill Team this fall and will definitely feature Aeldari and now, most likely, the new Scouts.
