Rest in Power: Last Chance to Buy Warhammer Minis

last chance to buy gw miniatures products warhammer games workshop

Don’t miss your last chance to buy these 30 different AoS items, as they will not be included in the new edition of the game!

At the start of a new edition, Games Workshop generally moves many units to Legends, and this time, there are many Stormcast, Beastmen, and Bonesplitterz on this list. While many of the Stormcast units are getting reworked with Thunderstrike armor, you will still be able to use the older models. Beastmen and Bonesplitterz are officially being moved to Legends and to the Old World side of things.

GW Trashes Two Whole AoS Factions & Sends More To Legends

Here is the latest on the Age of Sigmar factions and models that are moving to Legends from Warhammer Community.

AoS Factions Legends

Two factions, Beasts of Chaos and Bonesplitterz, as well as a number of older Stormcast Eternals from the Sacrosanct and Warrior chambers, will be receiving free-to-download digital battletomes. These will feature new background and rules, and will be considered legal for use in competitive play until summer 2025. At this point they will move over to Warhammer Legends, and will no longer be supported for competitive play.

We encourage you to continue using your collection for casual play, and we will continue to support this content with rules and balance updates as needed throughout the edition.

Well, if you play Beasts of Chaos or Bonesplitterz, your time in AoS is coming to an end, well, at least in competitive play. It looks like GW wants them to be more focused in the Old World, so it might be time to buy some square bases for your models.

Then, for Stormcast, they have so many units that it feels like GW is giving them the Primaris/Firstborn treatment with these updated ranges.

AoS Factions Legends 2

Additionally, a number of older Warcry and Warhammer Underworlds warbands for the Slaves to Darkness will go off sale and enter Legends. Many more Underworlds warbands will remain on sale, and will be supported only by digital Legends warscrolls in the next edition.

A handful of units, mostly those using older resin miniatures, will also be retired from the range, and will move over to Warhammer Legends.

The Warcry Warbands look like they will not have a solid place in the new edition of AoS, or maybe they will just make new ones for 4th edition.

AoS Last Chance to BuyThis is just the first wave of Beastmen moving to the Last Chance to Buy List, at least for now. As GW promised, they will go to Old World, so we expect to see a lot of these again repackaged for that. However, things like the Vanguard box and the Herdstone are probably gone for good.

AoS Last Chance to Buy 2This is a ton of miniatures, but we’ve already seen that the Liberators are getting a new look. So, expect a lot of these miniatures to get reworked, and of course, we don’t think anyone would complain if you used the older models with the newer rules.

AoS Last Chance to Buy 3Well, the Savage Orks (originally) are leaving the game. It is pretty clear they are not getting new models; they are just getting Legends rules and will be gone from all competitive play after the summer of 2025. If you want any of them, get them now.

AoS Last Chance to Buy 4Last but not least, there are a few more Stormcast characters and some other randoms on the list. If you want yours, be sure to get them now before they are gone for good!

With the release of a new edition of Age of Sigmar, Games Workshop is retiring some units and factions from competitive play and moving them to the Legends side of things. If you want any models on this list, they will soon only be available from the secondary market, so get them now.

GW Confirms New AoS Edition, Free Rules & Release Date

The new edition of Warhammer Age of Sigmar introduces some significant changes to the game, including the rotation of certain models and factions to Legends. While this may be disappointing news for some players, it also presents an opportunity to try out new units and strategies. Whether you play competitively or casually, there will still be plenty of options available in the Mortal Realms as the Rataclysm falls.
