RUMORS: Next Space Marine Chapter Codex Named White Scars

Rumors have it that another Space Marine Chapter may be getting their own codex later this year. Looks like the White Scars are set to get some Primaris goodies this summer!

An industry insider dropped some hints of another Space Marine Chapter getting their own codex. We were left in the dark as to what Chapter it would be until now. Before we jump into the latest, check out these rumor engines from a previous post as well as the first wave of rumors that were spotted to get all caught up.

Previous Rumor Engines Pointing to Clues

Taking a look at some rumor engines from the past that, while still unconfirmed to be anything specific, still have a high potential to be for the Primaris.

Starting off, this bit looks almost exactly like the hull of the Repulsor. It has sloped angles and definitely has the feel of some kind of hovercraft. Primaris are in dire need of a cheap vehicle that can either transport units or harass vehicles as a “glass cannon”.

Looking at another rumor engine, this looks to be like the business end of a Flamer. However, something about this model just points towards Primaris design. We know it’s way too clean to be anything the Orks would use and has a “size” that looks like it may not even be shoulder-fired. Could this be a turret option that goes to a light Primaris vehicle?

Lastly, we’ve got blips on the radar! Once again, the curved features and crisp controls look like something that the Primaris would have no problem using, but could be anything Imperial.

Space Marine Chapter Codex Rumors: New Book & More Primaris Focus

repulsor

Disclaimer: Make sure you take this with a pinch of salt for now. The rumors may sound good but until we see hard evidence come from GW, we shouldn’t put all our eggs in one basket.

According to an Industry Insider:

  • A Space Marine Chapter that’s never had a codex before will be getting one (similar to the Blood Angels, Space Wolves, etc format).
  • The Codex is going to focus on mobile grav/skimmer Primaris units.

Now, when we will start to see more about a codex pop up, we aren’t sure. But hopefully, these rumors will come true. Will we finally see our first Chapter-exclusive Primaris unit? Speaking of Primaris, with the Primaris’s only way of moving around the table being an overcosted floating school bus, they need more options.

With the rumor engines above showcased, do you think they go to some cheaper Primaris Grav/skimmer? We’ve been hearing rumors here and there about more Primaris units coming for a while now…

Check out more of these past rumors out and tell us what you think.

First Word on Space Marine Bikers

Ishagu posted in the B&C forums in July of 2018

I heard a rumour about Primaris BIKERS this year. They might be released alongside SW.

Of course, this is a bold claim so people started to ask where he got his sources. He said:

My usual sometimes correct info leaker lol
I actually heard this a few weeks ago but didn’t want to make a new topic about it. I thought I’d mention it seeing as the conversation turned to Primaris and potential new units.

All I was told is that a Primaris biker unit would likely be released this year. I wasn’t even given details if it would be jetbikes or not, but I expect so as they have the anti grav thing going on.

More Previous Rumors About Primaris Support

Space Marine walpaper

  • A close-combat designed Primaris unit with different weapon options. (These could be the Terminators of Primaris units).
  • Some kind of Primaris Tank kit with different main turret options. (This could replace the Predator)
  • New Fast one-man vehicles similar to Bikes/Land Speeders.
  • A Primaris Medium Transport. (something cheap with a decent carrying capacity could work)
  • Small Primaris Flyer

Honestly, GW’s primaris releases seem to emulate EXACTLY what they have been doing for their Stormcasts for Age of Sigmar right down to the recent “Vanguard” release. These latest rumors also seem to fit this trend as well.

Now let’s dig into the latest rumors.

LATEST RUMORS: White Scars Chapter Next in Line for Codex

white scar

According to the same industry insider that gave us the info from above, the White Scars are the next Chapter to get a Codex. Some of you might have heard that it was the Imperial Fists, but there’s been no such mention of their name (sorry).

  • White Scars To Get Chapter Book
  • Arrival Late Summer Early Fall
  • Combined Release With New Primaris Models

While Imperial Fists is a good guess (they’ve been popping up in Battleforce Box Sets/artwork for Kill Team), the White Scars are looking to be making their full debut. We don’t know any details when the Codex will drop exactly and we all have to keep in mind that these are all STILL RUMORS.

However, if there was going to be a faction to make full use out of skimmers and fast Primaris grav-vehicles, it would definitely be the White Scars, so things kind of make sense.

Do White Scars need Codex support the most out of all the Chapters right now? Do you think we could see Chapter-exclusive Primaris units dome out? Let us know in the comments of our Facebook Hobby Group.
