40k Rules For Necron Silent King, Warriors & More RUMORS

necron wal horDon’t miss these rumors for the new Necron Silent King, Skorpekh Destroyer rules, and more that are coming our way for 9th Edition Warhammer 40k soon!

We’ve been marinating in the Necron models from previews weeks ago and now, some rumors about what their rules may be are beginning to emerge. Sit down for this one because if these rumors are true, Necrons are about to be kicked up a couple of notches. We’ll be jumping into some rumored statlines for their new units. But before we do all of that, we should take a look at the previous Necron goodness to get caught up.

This is a serious load of Necron rumors that are out there. Check out the rumored 40k rules and statlines for a bunch of Necron units including the Silent King.

9th Edition 40k Necron Models Pics Hidden In Plain Sight

9th ed new logoHere are the rumors from around the web, we had heard about Necrons and new 9th Edition 40k up to now:

  • September a new edition will drop and Necrons will be the new bad guys in the block.
  • Some finecast units might get redone, I think the flayers were brought up.
  • There are rumours of a new Necron codex as well for 9th.
  • A new edition cycle will begin, so ya know what to expect, we have been trough this for a few times now.

New Necron Warriors Models Are on the Way

Necrons are finally getting their update! New models are always exciting, especially when it’s an older faction. (hopefully, some more of their finecast models get updated too)

necron long boiFirst, there is the standard warrior here a more “damaged” look as they are just begging to reanimate after their slumber. This will most likely mean you may have some more painting freedom with the new line-up!

Necron Models Pics Hidden In Plain Sight

Warhammer Community put out better quality images from the grainer one that was floating around the web a couple weeks back.

photato upgradedGW confirmed the earlier leaked images by uploading the full-res version of the same picture. Other than some scribbles by Eddie Eccles, this picture is covered in yet-to-be-announced models! Let’s break it down more below.

new necron codex leakAnother picture emerged that looked to be a slightly blurred Necron Codex cover. Some details are hard to spot, but the giant dude that walked up on some Primaris and Sisters of Battle in the 9th Edition launch trailer is right on the cover.

necron tri legg confrimedSpeaking of the tri-legged model that fought the Astartes and Sisters near the end of the trailer, here he is again on the new Warhammer 40k site.

We know that the Skorpekh Destroyers are a smaller, less-equipped version of this guy, so we can only assume that he’s a Skorpekh lord.

More 9th Edition 40k Necron Models Pics

photato upgradedThis image is littered with new models! Let’s try to break it down into two main sections.

In the lower-left alone there are four new Necon models. A Quad Pod walker, a character (which we think is Toholk the Blinded), some new hunch-back models, and a potential updated Heavy Destroyer!

On the right side, there are also a couple of new Necron models for 40k. Most of the models in the middle are old or have been revealed. However, on the far right, we see a similar smaller walker to what we saw on the left side. We also see a huge C’tan like figure (that seems to fit the bill for the Void Dragon) along with the Silent King next to him. Behind the C’tan in the distance, there look to be some structures we haven’t seen before.

Necron Silent King 40k Rules Rumors

We saw the Silent King teased in a YouTube video a while ago but never got a good look at him.

silent kingAfter the teaser video, we saw him emerge in the un-blurred Necron army picture. But thanks to AenarIT on BolterandChainsword, we’ve got a very detailed rules rumors description of what the Necron Silent King statline in 9th Edition will be.

SILENT KING
2 Pillars each have a tesla sphere, and can cast 1 C’tan power each. Otherwise have their own statlines and can intercept shots at SK. BS3, T6, 8w, 4++

Silent king has:
M10, WS2, BS2, S7, T7, W16, A4, LD10 3+/4++

Didnt get much on his weapons, all I got was “has two profiles, for shooting and combat. Deals mortal wounds on 6s to wound”

Auras:
– Grants reroll 1s to hit and wound with ranged attacks for infantry
– fearless aura
– +1 to reanimation protocal aura, or you may reroll 1s, chosen before RP are rolled
– heals d3 wounds each turn per pillar alive.
Also grants an additional command point at the beginning of the command phase.
340 points

If these Necron rules rumors are true, the Silent King is going to be the biggest named-character unit we’ve seen hit 40k. With his pillars adding 8 wounds each to the unit, that’ll be a whopping 32 wounds players will have to get through. Now, he does have so many wounds that he passes the threshold of being able to target him, so that’s nice. But depending on what kind of Stratagem support he gets on top of healing D3 a turn, players are going to have to devote a lot of firepower to him.

Skorpekh Destroyer Statline Rumors

necron skorpekh destoryer 2

necron hyperphase reap-bladeKeep in mind, we’ve already gotten a small taste from an official preview given by GW. The Skorpekh Destroyers are coming with armor-melting three-damage weapons. Coming from U/Chaledy on the Necrontyr Reddit:

Skorpekh Destroyer 8″ 3+ 3+ 5 5 4 3 10 3+

WEAPONS

*Hyperphase reap-blade Melee Melee +2 -4 3 Subtract 1 from hit rolls made with this weapon

*Hyperphase reap-swords Melee Melee User -4 2 Each time the bearer fights, it can make one additional attack with this weapon.

ABILITIES

*Reanimation Protocols

*Hardwired Hatred: You can re-roll unmodified hit rolls of 1 for this model.

*Skittering Advance: This model may advance and still charge later in the same turn.

*Canopteck Plasmacyte: if a Canopteck Plasmacyte is accompanying a unit of Skorpekh Destroyer, then that unit may re-roll unmodified Reanimation Protocols rolls of a 1. If an enemy unit is destroyed in the fight phase by an attack made by a model in this unit then you may re-roll all Reanimation Protocols rolls for the rest of the battle

Breaking down these dudes…wow. They’re T5 with 4 wounds and a 3+ sv. They shouldn’t be rolling over for anybody. However, if the max squad size is 3, that would obviously be their weakest point. With that said, they have two weapon options that’ll be able to kill any Primaris outright and can advance and charge with a base movement of 8″.

To add even more icing on the cake, if the plasmacyte gets a lucky hit in, they can reroll all failed Reanimation Protocols for the rest of the game. That’s crazy powerful, however, if wounds taken on the unit can be given to the plasmacyte, it’ll probably be the first to go.

Skorpekh Lord Statline Rumors

Skorpekh Lord 10″ 2+ 3+ 6 6 8 5 10 3+

WEAPONS

*Enmitic annihilator 18″ Assult 4 5 -2 1 For each unmodified wound roll of a 6, the target unit suffers 1 mortal wound in addition to any other damage.

*Flensing claw Melee Melee User -2 2 Each time the bearer fights, it can make one additional attack with this weapon. You may re-roll wound rolls for this weapon.

*Hyperphase reap-cleaver Melee Melee User -4 3 –

ABILITIES

*Living Metal.

*Hardwired Hatred: You can re-roll unmodified hit rolls of 1 for this model.

*United in Hatred:(Aura ability) You can re-roll unmodified wound rolls of 1 for this model and models from friendly<DYNASTY> DESTROYER CULT units within 6″.

*Phase Shifter: This model has a 4+invulnerable save.

*Skittering Advance: This model may advance and still charge later in the same turn.

There are a couple of incredible points to make about this unit. First off, he’s even faster than the regular Skorpekh Destroyers and can still advance and charge. On top of that, he’s under 10 wounds which means he can’t normally be targetted. The surprising thing about the model is that his giant cleaver doesn’t give him any Strength bonus despite being bigger than his other Skorpekh dudes so he’ll still only be S6. Finally, he’s got a 4++ invuln and will act as a Lieutenant for his other Destroyer buddies, letting them reroll 1’s to wound.

Necron Warrior Statline Rumors

necron long boi

Necron Warrior 5″ 3+ 3+ 4 4 1 1 10 4+

WEAPONS

*Gauss flayer 24″ Rapid-fire 1 4 -1 1 –

*Gauss reaper 18″ Assault 2 5 -1 1 –

ABILITIES

*Reanimation Protocols.

For the Warrior, it’s just getting a new weapon called the Gauss Reaper that essentially has less range and +1 Strength. The fact that its an assault weapon will also play quite nicely with what Dynasty/ list you’re running. If you want to be aggressive and support your Skorpekh dudes that can advance and charge, you might want to run these assault loadouts on the Warriors.

Canoptek Stalker Rumored Stateline

canoptek stalkerWe don’t know what the Canoptek Stalker is, but looking at the statline, our best guess is the scrooge-looking dude behind the monolith.

canopterk stalker 2It could also be this smaller walker thing standing next to a Cryptek. If you look at the model closely, you’ll see it hardly has any weapon threat at all.

 Canoptek Stalker 7″ 4+ 4+ 5 5 5 2 10 3+

WEAPONS

*Bladed limb Melee Melee User -1 1 –

ABILITIES

*Phase Generator: friendly<DYNASTY> units within 6″ of a model with this rule gain a 5+ invulnerable save

*Canoptek Node: (Aura ability) If this model is within 6″ of one or more friendly<DYNASTY> units with aura abilities, this model gains those Aura abilities whilst it remains within 6″ of that unit.

Whatever this model ends up being, he will be like a Pylon to the Protoss. Not only will he give a 5++ invuln, but if he’s standing next to something like a Cryptek or the Silent King giving off a Reanimation Protocol bonus, he’ll be able to gain that aura as well, extending it to the rest of the units around him. Definitely a unique ability.

Immortal Overseer Rumored Statline

necrons hor walImmortal Overseer 5″ 3+ 3+ 4 4 4 3 10 3+

WEAPONS

Gauss blaster 24″ Rapid-fire 1 5 -2 1 –

ABILITIES

*Eternal Overseer: (Aura ability) Whenever a model from a <DYNASTY>Immortal or <DYNASTY> Warrior unit with 6″ of a model with this rule would flee roll a dice. On a 4+ that model does not flee.

The model for this guy is yet again, another mystery. However, adding a 50/50 chance to stay and fight after you take morale is huge. Especially if you’re going to be rocking a massive list of Warrior spam… But at that point, why not just take the Warlord Trait that makes everyone fearless?
