Warhammer+ Takes Another Hit It Looks Like…

40k-app-developerGames Workshop is hiring more animators to join the team, and it could be to just pump out content for Warhammer+ Plus faster, or…

It seems like they have been sort of rotating members on the app and the team, as they put out two separate calls for app developers for the 40k app, which hasn’t created too many end results yet in our opinion. As the app still has some serious issues and one of the biggest parts of that job was getting the list-building aspect working.

Anyways… this time around they don’t say whether the person is to replace an animator, or if they just realize they need more people to get the schedule rolling faster. If it’s to just get out shows faster, it perhaps shows that GW realizes they need to make more content, which is a good thing.

Warhammer+ Takes Another Hit: Games Workshop Hiring More Animators

40k app update 2Let’s check out the listing and see what it’s all about. Just keep in mind, that you have to apply by Wednesday the 22nd of June. It does say you can work remotely, but we imagine you would have to do all the work on UK time, as it says you have to communicate with a bunch of the other team members.

Responsibilities:

Warhammer + plus announcement

You will be required to engage with the director, production manager, and wider animations team – including internal Games Workshop stakeholders – to help successfully contribute to the overall Warhammer animations strategy. You will work closely with the Lead Animator to deliver on the animation tasks required for each episode. The ideal individual will be able to consistently meet quality standards on time while completing daily tasks and working closely with the rest of the team.

Requirements:

The ability to retarget and polish motion-captured animation to a wide variety of characters, with performances that may include complex physical interactions with other characters or the environment is essential, alongside creating original keyframed animations and staging scenes in the Unreal Engine to deliver AAA level work in a fast-paced environment. Knowledge of cloth, hair, fluid, and destruction simulation would also be beneficial – there tend to be a lot of battles in Warhammer animations, after all. In addition to the Unreal Engine, knowledge, and proficiency in Autodesk Maya, Marvelous Designer, and HoudiniFX are desirable. You will need to leverage your experience and capabilities to plan and execute the tasks assigned to you, as well as participate in internal reviews to provide effective feedback to the rest of the team.

Being proactive and diligent, you will have a sense of ownership for successful outcomes and take responsibility for implementing improvements when required.

Working at GW

At Games Workshop we are looking for people who will do their best to understand the needs of the company and to put those needs first when they are at work. Because of this, we believe that what you are like, hence the attitude you show to work and the way you choose to behave is just as important as your skills and experience.

In return for your hard work, you will receive 33 days of holiday per year (including public holidays), a matching contributory pension scheme of up to 7.5%, a profit share bonus (subject to GW meeting profit targets), and the option to join our Share Save scheme.  Oh and let’s not forget, a staff discount of between 25% and 50% on our products!

Looks like a great opportunity for someone to get into the animation side of Warhammer+ Plus at Games Workshop.
