GW has finally updated the Assassins and Agents of the Imperium 40k rules and datasheets after a lull- check out all the new rules!
Not only are there new rules, but you can also download all the points in the field manual, so hopefully, enough to actually update them to the current game state.
Also, just something to think about, this is really the last faction we need to be released before every faction has had at least one book/update in 9th, so all signs really point to the 10th edition of Warhammer 40k now!
GW Updates Assassins & Agents of the Imperium 40k Rules & Datasheets!
The info comes from this Warhammer Community post.
These changes also update the Agents of the Imperium ability to include the new Arks of Omen and Boarding Patrol Detachments, allowing any Imperial faction to include a single unit without losing Detachment abilities or using up a Battlefield Role slot. That’s especially useful for Boarding Actions games, where you can include an Inquisitor without occupying your single HQ slot.
The document also moves AGENTS OF THE IMPERIUM to the Faction keyword box – for those looking to field an entire Detachment of special agents. If you want to build a Boarding Patrol of Inquisitorial agents or Navy privateers, you can do that too.
It would be nice to field a whole army of special agents, but the list is a little slim to do that! It would make more sense to just add on a few units, but it would be cool to see a full army on the tabletop.
New Warhammer 40k Datasheets
As you would expect, taking these units doesn’t stop your army from gaining their special rules, and they don’t take up detachment slots. Then, the Inquisitors get some decent special rules, so it may make sense to take them to buff up your army!
All four of the Assassins get an update based on the AoI and IO rules. Plus, each still looks to be pretty strong at only 90 points now.
Next up, a lot of the named Inquisitors get a full datasheet, but you can also just take a generic Inquisitor as well. Eisenhorn has some interesting rules and, obviously, has a super strong Daemonhost with him!
It’s nice to get actual 40k rules for the breachers, and be able to take all their weapons the kit comes with. They start at a base 110 points for the ten models.
You can even take old Kill Team Rogue Traders, which are always fun. You can download all the new datasheet rules here!
New Points
All the Assassins come in at 90 points, so nothing too crazy.
Next up, they also have all the Inquisitor points, and for only 85 points, Eisenhorn might be really worth the pickup! You can download all the points here.
