How Imperial Agents Work in 10th Edition & Free Arbites Rules!

Adeptus Arbites Kill TeamGW is dropping free Adeptus Arbites rules for Warhammer 40k, but also preview how all the Imperial Agents will work in 10th Edition now too.

GW dropped some Imperial Agents rules not too long ago, but it’s nice to add the Arbites to that list! They updated the old document, so we’ll take a look at all the new stuff.

However, if you’re buying Imperial Agents, you’ll probably want to know how they work in 10th Edition too, and luckily, GW showed us that as well.

Here are the quick links to the latest for 10th Edition Warhammer 40k and the full articles below!

Now let’s dive into the new rules!

How Imperial Agents Work in 10th Edition & Free Adeptus Arbites Rules!

The new rules come from Warhammer Community.

Adeptus Arbites Rules

All three squads make great boarders thanks to their shotguns, shock mauls, and carapace armour, allowing them dish out and endure some wicked damage. Subductors are especially well-suited to the cramped confines of a Boarding Action, as their assault shields boost their Save characteristic to a very respectable 3+ and grant them the defensive Shield Line ability.

A 5+ Invuln is always nice, and being able to set to defend is always nice. Combined with a 3+ save, they should be pretty tough and add some beef to your army!

Each squad’s Proctor can also use their voice as a weapon to cow the feeble-minded, amplified through the regal nuncio aquila that floats beside them. Enemies who fall victim to the lawbringer’s booming sanctions will find their aim unsteady, intimidated as they are by the righteousness of the Adeptus Arbites.

This can be used in basically every Adeptus Arbites unit, so you can really start messing with the enemy pretty heavily if you have a few units.

New Datasheets

Adeptus Arbites Rules 4The Executioner Shotgun is actually pretty awesome; with the ability to ignore the Look Out, Sir rule, D2, Ap-2, and mortal wounds, this can actually tear through characters fast! You can just add a unit of these and have them hunting characters from the get-go.

Then, they have a ton of other options, and with their special rules, they could make a great auxiliary squad.

Adeptus Arbites Rules 5They have a good save, an invuln, and actually decent melee. With S5 and two attacks a piece, they should do decently, and it will be hard to move off of objectives. They are a little expensive for 1-wound T3 models, but they are really cool.

Adeptus Arbites Rules 6 Adeptus Arbites Rules 7If you just want a squad with all the options, this is the way to go! You can get a ton of cool weapons, a med kit, and can ignore cover! Again, you can also make a couple of units of five to just hunt characters, which is really interesting, or you can go the other way and add a lot more combat prowess.

How Imperial Agents Work in 10th Edition

Adeptus Arbites Rules 3

Building armies is much simpler in the new edition, so there’s no need to fiddle about with Patrol Detachments and the like. Instead, depending on the battle size, you’ll be able to take a certain number of units with the AGENTS OF THE IMPERIUM keyword, no questions asked. Just slot them into your force and dispense some justice.

Previously, Imperial Knights also used the AGENTS OF THE IMPERIUM keyword to send Freeblades out on crusade with Imperial armies. They now have their own rules for inclusion, so they won’t use up one of your precious Agent slots. In both cases, the models won’t benefit from your army’s Detachment Rules, or have access to any Enhancements – so your army rules will still fit on a double-page, even with these auxiliary units. Stay tuned for a full faction preview in the coming months!

So, now with Freeblades and Imperial Knights being separate, you can include a decent number of Imperial Agents. In a 2,000-point game, you could take up to 4 units (including characters), so pretty sweet. Considering the new Boarding Patrol is out, you can take most of that in a single game.
