Steelhelms

Freeguild Steelhelms 1Freeguild Steelhelms are the backbone defenders of the Cities of Sigmar and the relentless heart of the Dawnbringer Crusades. These everyday heroes are thrown into the fray against all sorts of nightmares. They might be outgunned individually, but they’ve got three aces up their sleeves: discipline, determination, and unshakable faith in Sigmar.

Freeguild Cavaliers

Freeguild Cavaliers 1The battlefield trembles as the Freeguild Cavaliers thunder in on their mighty steeds. These aren’t just fancy jousters – they’re in it for the long haul, grinding through brutal battles where both rider and horse are expected to fight tirelessly for hours on end.

Freeguild Marshal & Envoy

Dawnbringer Freeguild MarshalFreeguild Marshals are war veterans and master tacticians trusted with defending their Free City. The ones leading from the front are the true heroes, and when the battle heats up, their prowess with sword, hammer, and pistol is undeniable. They’ve earned more respect from their troops than any shield could provide, and their Relic Envoys make sure orders are delivered right on time.3

Alchemite Warforger

Alchemite Warforger 1Alchemite Warforgers are specialist wizards harnessing the raw power of Chamon. As buff and sweaty as any regular blacksmith, these mages pull glowing runecubes from their crucibles, using metallurgic magic to obliterate their enemies. Their arcane alchemy doesn’t just tweak metal; it can bend reality itself.

Cities of Sigmar Army Box Review

So, you’re thinking about grabbing the Cities of Sigmar Army?

Well, if you want new miniatures, then this is a great box! However, with 4th Edition here, the rules and cards inside are basically useless. So, if you can find it cheap enough not to worry about the rules, then this is a great box. However, if you can’t find it at a good price, you might be better off getting the miniatures another way, like the spearhead box.

          Army Box Comparisons

Below, you can see how the new Army of Faith Battleforce compares to older Battleforces, like the Space Marines (which featured 20 models) and the Deathwing Assault releases.

Box Set Name Price Qty of Minis Values
Cities of Sigmar Army Set $200 52 $110
          Flesh-Eater Courts Army Set $200 25 $143
          Darkoath Army Set Box $200 20 $125
          New Spearhead Boxes $140 15-17  $50-$120

          Is This Worth It?

It has decent value inside, but you do have to remember a lot of the value comes from the battletome; and with 4th Edition now released, it is not usable anymore. Everything inside is also brand new, so most people who play the army or want to play the army will most likely want to get all the units included. There are no wasted minis here in terms of value.

While the value isn’t the best we’ve ever seen for an army box, it’s a good buy overall, and if you want all the new minis, this is worth a pickup! This is mainly because it has a good range of miniatures inside.

          What to Buy Next?

          cities-of-sigmar-new-Pontifex Zenestra

The Pontifex looks pretty crazy, and we assume almost every army will include one for free Mortal Wounds. Then, there will be a ton of new minis, so we recommend just buying the minis you like for now, and then when you get the book, build around your favorite minis to hobby on. Especially with a new edition coming soon, we don’t know what the new rules will hold and what will really be good.

In conclusion, the Army Box offers an exciting array of units and characters for AoS players. With the inclusion of so many new miniatures, this box set provides a strong foundation for Cities of Sigmar armies.
