AoS 4th Edition Slaves to Darkness Rules

The Dread Hosts of Chaos

Here is the latest on the Slaves to Darkness rules for the 4th Edition Age of Sigmar from Warhammer Community. Picture tribes of Darkoath with their stern-faced Chieftains and armored legions led by tyrannical warlords. These guys rampage through the realms, hungry for power. Their mission? Simple: topple the weak, dethrone their phony gods, and seize control of the Mortal Realms.

Chaos took hold of the Mortal Realms after Sigmar, the God-king, flopped and retreated to Azyr following a crushing defeat by Archaon. Those left behind had to align with the Ruinous Powers, enduring a brutal life of violence and survival, paying their dues in blood every single day.

Battle Traits

Slaves to Darkness Battle Traits

The Slaves to Darkness fight for dominance under the watchful Eye of the Gods, leaving a trail of bodies along their Path to Glory. After each turn, victorious units might snag a gift from the Ruinous Powers—unless the gods decide to give them the cold shoulder.

Imagine getting Mutative Regrowth to heal even the nastiest wounds, Unnatural Grace to boost your fighting skills, Lurid Aura for some extra protection, or Slaughterer’s Might to really dish out the pain. A true Chaos Champion even gets to choose their own gift from the gods, and yes, these perks can stack!

Warriors can also pledge part of their soul to a specific god, earning a Mark of Chaos. This could mean getting a Ward (4+) against spells and manifestations from Tzeentch or improved wound rolls against Heroes and Monsters for those following the Undivided path.

Battle Formations

Slaves To Darkness Battle Formations

The Slaves to Darkness have a bunch of tricks up their sleeves when it comes to winning, with their armies showcasing a mix of brutal tactics. The Godswrath Warband loves an Ironclad Onslaught, their sheer presence eroding the resolve of anyone foolish enough to challenge them.

Other legions unite under warlords who temporarily bury their grudges to seize enemy territory. Savage beasts and monstrous creatures fight with freakish endurance when led by a Daemon Prince.

Arcana & Incantations

Arcana & Incantations

Throwing in with the Ruinous Powers is a gamble with eternal damnation, but for sorcerers, the payoff can be some seriously potent magic. Picture this: Daemonic Speed to get you or your allies where they need to go crazy fast.

Then there’s the Dark Tongue, where you ask your dark patron to curse your enemies, even if it means taking a hit yourself. And let’s not forget the ability to summon writhing tendrils of chaos energy to snare your foes. It’s all about leveraging dark powers for those instant, game-changing gains.

Be’lakor, the Dark Master

Be’lakor, the Dark Master

The Everchosen might be the most famous Chaos champion, but Be’lakor is the real OG. His rise to power was legendary, and his dramatic fall even more so. Now, he’s gunning for godhood through a complex web of shadowy schemes.

Be’lakor, the Dark Master, ensnares his puppets in these treacherous threads, pulling the strings whenever he wants to cripple even his toughest enemies at the perfect moment.

His Shadow Form makes him a slippery target, shrugging off all save roll modifiers. When he’s sure victory is within reach, he’ll unleash his Deadly Trap, allowing himself and up to two allies to strike first, catching unsuspecting foes off guard.

Daemon Prince

Daemon Princes

Conquering the Path to Glory can lead to ascension to daemonhood. The rare few who emerge with their identity intact become tyrants, the very embodiment of Chaos. With Ruinous Favour, they can draw their masters’ attention to their allies.

Daemon Princes often sprout wings, but some prefer to deck themselves out with trophy racks. These grisly displays, like The Mounted Skull of the Fallen, serve as a grim reminder of their unmatched combat prowess.

Chaos Knights

Chaos Knights

Among the dopest warriors in the Slaves to Darkness ranks are the Chaos Knights. Once noblemen of tribes and kingdoms now crushed under the iron heel of Chaos, these knights charge into battle on powerful steeds, wielding lances cursed with dark energies.

Their Impaling Charge is the stuff of nightmares, easily skewering multiple enemies with enhanced rend and damage.

Darkoath Marauders

Darkoath Marauders

Not all Chaos worshippers fully grasp the powers they serve. The Darkoath tribes often see the Chaos gods as guardian spirits, swearing oaths to them and receiving blessings in return. Darkoath Marauders take the Oath of the Marauder, hurling themselves into battle with a ferocity that slices through armor like butter.

They go to great lengths to earn favor, even to the point of sacrificing themselves in dire situations. Each marauder is ready to fight to a Glorious Death, delivering one last brutal attack that deals mortal damage, all under the watchful eye of a nearby Darkoath Hero.
