Kenny Boucher here bringing you another west coast guerrilla battle report and we’re going to find out what happens when Orks and Chaos Death Stars Collide.
I’m here with my boy Jake, not from State Farm, who I first met while walking around the GT and looking at some Armies. He’s a big, tall, military man with a great looking Ork Army so you know we had to thrown down.
This is quick summary of what happened, to get the full long war experience please click the link for all the army breakdown and the blow by blow story of what happened. Read on for the quick and dirty.
Turn 1
Jake: I move up and I’m trying to throw some fire at your fortification, the only good target for the tank bustas, and I’m try to knock off a couple of hull points.
Kenny: The loota’s took out my mauler fiend like it was nothing and gave you first blood.
Jake: Since we’re playing classic eternal war getting that first point makes is really important.
Kenny: I basically just move up with my super fast units and get off some charges, which is what I do with my Chaos, superfriends-like list. I missed a charge with my mauler fiend but my soul grinder get in. I have a lot of re-rolls to a lot of things, including charges, so it was disappointing that my mauler fiend didn’t get into assault.
Turn 2
Jake: I’m really just trying to take off some wounds off the D-Thirster because getting the Stompa into assault with it is going to be rough.
Kenny: I loved that your loota’s where able to point, click, delete my other mauler fiend.
Jake: Yeah, that’s typically what I do with them; they just sit in the back objective, armor 14 facing the enemy and just provide support.
Kenny: That’s a great unit that just gobbled up more than 200 points of mauler fiends.
Jake: And you just deleted my 400 points of stompa.
Turn 3
Kenny: You also killed my D-Thirstier so it those are the point advantages you have to take advantage of. The Stompa then explodes and does some damage to the army.
In my turn I’m splitting up the death star and going after your Warboss and trying to blow up these trucks. And you did an OG Veteran move in surrounding my guys with your Orks to keep me from being able to break out.
Jake: Yeah, the best thing I can do is move block, we’re just doing hands across America and trying to keep you away from my Warboss. I know that if I charge into you that you’ll just kill the Orks in my turn and give you free movement
Kenny: It looks like I would have an advantage because I just crushed a flank but you just moved away and we traded sides; it’s a Classic Eternal War Struggle. You’re also in position to crush my backfield.
Turn 4
Jake: You’re also in position to run roughshod in my backfield so I’m trying to move my Loota’s as far away from my Warlord as I can
Kenny: and we’re just banging out turns now because there’s nothing really left on the field.
Turn 5
Kenny: So basically, I have to multi-charge, crush everyone, and then move back towards the center of the table because you’re holding two objectives and will have a massive advantage if I don’t. You did everything right, you screened the Grots, you piled everyone up on your objectives.
Jake and I both got Line Breaker, I was able to contest the middle so split the objectives and no one had Warlord, so we tied on objectives.
