Consular Class Cruiser Flies in for Star Wars: Armada

Consular Feature rLast week we looked at some of the new Galactic Fleet ships coming, today we focus on the Consular Class Cruiser!

Fantasy Flight Games felt the Republic needed a little more representation in Star Wars: Armada! This new expansion includes far more than just ships, it has rules, cards, and a full fleet that make up an entirely new faction! This is the first opportunity for players to partake in Armada with the iconic Republic fleet. Today though, let’s dive a little deeper into the Consular!

All of the Capitol ships can be fielded in two variants, including the Consular, and the squadron cards give you the ability to customize your more normal ships. If you’ve been waiting for this moment, now is your time. Let’s take a look at the ship and box!

The Galactic Republic FleetTake to the skies and save the Republic! While they won’t be able to match the sheer numbers of the separatist fleets, they make up for it in coordination and skill. We know you love Star Wars, so why not check out what else is happening with it!

The ships come in the starter, but they may also release them separately in the future. Here’s a quick look at everything in the starter set:

To begin building your first fleets, you’ll find an Acclamator-class Assault Ship miniature and two Consular-class Cruiser miniatures as well as four squadrons of V-19 Torrent starfighters.

In addition to the miniatures, this Fleet Starter invites you to fine-tune your fleets down to the smallest detail. All three of the capital ships can be fielded in two variants depicted on six ship cards, giving you the freedom to choose the ship type that best fits your strategy. Meanwhile, two squadron cards let you choose between a generic group of V-19s and one led by the elite clone pilot “Axe”. Finally, Republic ships are remarkably customizable and you can use the 20 upgrade cards found here to outfit your ships with additional officers, weapons, and more.

Cards:

Consular Class Cruiser CardsIf you need a little more punch to your fleet, you can equip one variant with ordinance. Perfect for blowing apart larger blobs of ships. The other variant is a longer range and prefers to do battle on the edges of the field.

That does it for this awesome new ship! If you’ve been looking to pick up a new fleet, well, here you go!
