GW Confirms Horus Heresy Plastic Deimos Predator Kit!

plastic-Deimos-predatorIt is official- Games Workshop has confirmed the new Horus Heresy Plastic Deimos Predator Kit- check it out!

We actually looked a little while ago at how they could easily make this kit with a single upgrade sprue from the new Rhino kit (we’ll check that out as well), so we actually have a good idea of what sprues will actually be in the box.

Warhammer Community unveiled the new kit and weapon options. Let’s check out the kit!

GW Confirms Horus Heresy Plastic Deimos Predator Kit!

The Deimos Pattern Predator Battle Tank is as Space Marine as power armour and boltguns, and now a new plastic kit is coming to Warhammer: The Horus Heresy just laden with firepower.

Its ease of maintenance makes it an ideal platform for many different kinds of weapon, be they tank-hunting lascannons or infantry-scorching volkite macro-sakers, as sponsons and turrets can be swapped to suit an army’s needs.  And, with smoke launchers fitted as standard for extra survivability, the Predator is a cost-effective unit that plugs any holes in your army’s capabilities better than almost anything else.

The kit is pretty cool while keeping the old-school feel and updating it. We like that they are keeping the older look for all the Horus Heresy stuff and just really bringing it to plastic. As we said, it’s also basically the same kit as the new Rhino with extra options.

Just like the Spartan would work perfectly with the Land Raider Proteus.

This all manifests as a kit containing four powerful turret weapons and four sponson options, including heavy flamers, volkite culverins, and the terrain-warping graviton cannon. Plus, with a cut-price points cost and the ability to take Predators in squadrons of up to four, you can flood the battlefield with enough armour to make Perturabo blush.

There are plenty of weapon options and if it works the same way as the Kratos, it should be super easy to build all the options.

The (probable) Sprues

As you can see, the sponson sprue in the Kratos actually has all the weapons on sponsons that we had seen for a Demios Predator from Forge World. So we wouldn’t be surprised to see this sprue come with it.

Chassis-wise, it’s quite obviously the same as a Deimos Rhino, which means that they could re-use the existing bottom and track sprue.  The only issue would be left to replace the top hatch and sides. This seems easily doable with a single sprue if you compare it to the other Rhino sprue below:

PredatorThis is the current side and top sprue for the Deimos Rhino, which GW could easily re-tool with the beveled front hatch and weapon mounts instead of the side clamshell hatches.
