GW Reveals Horus Heresy Typhon Heavy Siege Tank

New tanks are still rolling in for Horus Heresy, this time in the way of the new Typhon Heavy Siege Tank in plastic!

If you want to siege up those giant structures in the HH, this tank might be perfect! It won’t be super long-range, but it will hurt when it gets there!

Warhammer Community just unveiled the new vehicle, along with a few rules as well! Let’s take a closer look at the new tank.

GW Reveals Horus Heresy Typhon Heavy Siege Tank

Typhon Heavy Siege Tank

The Typhon Heavy Siege Tank shares a chassis with the Spartan, but instead of carrying squads of Tactical Marines and Terminators across the battlefield, it mounts a centerline dreadhammer siege cannon.

It looks like this is going to fit on the chassis of the Spartan, and as we saw before, the way the sprue is set up, this will probably just be one extra sprue. This also makes it possible we’ll see a bunch of upgrades like this. As all Games Workshop has to do is make one extra sprue, and you have a new tank!

As with many Spartan variants, the Typhon can expand its specific blast-tastic loadout with a choice of sponson weapons such as heavy bolters, volkite culverins, heavy flamers, or lovely lascannons.

Considering the Spartan already comes with these weapons, it would make sense for this kit to have them too! Plus, more firepower is always better.

The real star of the show however, is the dreadhammer itself. Strength 12 and AP 3 make a mockery of heavy armour, and that performance is only improved by Rending (4+) and Sunder. Beef that shot up with Ordnance and Blast 5” and a stationary Typhon can take out whole squads of Legion Tactical Marines at a time.

At strength 12, Large Blast, Rending, Sunder, and more, this will wreak some havoc when it gets in range.
