New Star Wars: Armada Rules SPOTTED!

Star Wars Armada FeatureSome new Star Wars: Armada rules have been leaked, including tokens, range changes, and card rules! Let’s see what’s happening!

The rules for Star Wars: Armada have basically stayed the same since it’s inception. While the system worked well, it’s always good to see a game get updated after so much time. There has been a bunch of news hitting the game recently, including the new starter boxes and the game moving over to a new branch of Asmodee. So, it only makes sense they would throw in some updates! This is more of a 1.5 version than an entirely new one, so you just need to learn a few things!

The internet is a crazy place, and if you put something out there, people are going to find it! The Learn to Play guide from the Separatist box was somehow dug up in German recently. If you speak German, you can check out the full document here.

Luckily, if you don’t speak German, a few people have summarized the changes for us!

New Star Wars: Armada Rules Leaked!

Armada ChangesThese rules were condensed on Facebook from the German version. There are also a few other people going through and covering all the leaks. So if you want a full breakdown of everything you can go check it out! Basically evading is becoming more dependent on the range and type of ship firing. Which all makes sense! It should be easier to evade the further you are away and harder the closer you get.

The main change though is coming in the pass tokens. This will incentivize you to run smaller fleets with more impactful ships. As you will be getting a single token for each ship less that you have. Big ships haven’t felt super impactful, so hopefully, this will give them the buff they need to be truly terrorizing. Each one you have will allow you to skip an activation, but with a few restrictions.

The last thing that still seems unclear is the tokens on cards. While they say they won’t affect the ship’s cards they are attached to, we don’t really know what they do to the cards. But, by the time you get your new boxes, we’re sure to know what they will do!

How do you feel about the game getting some updates? Is there anything you are hoping changes?
