The New Horus Heresy Raven Guard Rules Very, Very, Sneaky!

Horus-heresy-raven-guardGW revealed some Horus Heresy Raven Guard rules, but we’ve also seen a ton of rumors for their legion rules as well- here is the latest!

With the release of the starter and new edition imminent, it’s time for GW to start revealing rules. This time around, they are focusing on the emo marines… er, the Raven Guard, but we’ve also seen some Horus Heresy playtest rumors for them.

So while they might change a little, the playtest versions have been pretty accurate so far.

Warhammer Community showed off some new legion-specific rules; let’s check them out!

The New Horus Heresy Raven Guard Rules are Sneaky!

Raven Guard Rules

There are three divisions, each with its own perk. For example, your humble line infantry is classed as Talons, and are tasked with using their relative agility to creep up the battlefield ahead of the main assault, avoiding enemy fire through stealth and caution.

Getting both Infiltrate and Shrouded, is pretty nice, especially because it can be used on so much of your army.

Your bikers and lighter vehicles are Hawks, supporting allies with speed and guile, while Dreadnoughts and heavier infantry – including those with jump packs – are Falcons, who unleash rapid-strike assaults with a fury to match any distractingly-shiny Blood Angel. Each element of your Legion excels in its role – a savvy general can tailor their performance to suit any battle plan.

We’ll take a look below in the rumor section at what the other two will do.

Raven Guard Rules 2

Speaking of battle plans, the Raven Guard excel at keeping your opponent on the back foot. When the enemy lines your sneaky boys up in their sights, the sons of Corax have the training and equipment to Fade to Black at will, leaving their foes shooting at nothing. The Night Lords only wish they were this good at leaping into the shadows…

This can really save a unit from shooting and not to mention, the enemy can’t even shoot at a different target! This means you can waste your opponent’s strongest shooting unit.

Corvus Corax

Raven Guard Rules 3

They didn’t show off the Primarch rules for Corax, but we’ve seen rumored rules, so take them with a grain of salt as they could change, but look pretty good.

Raven Guard Rules 7His stats aren’t the strongest of the Primarchs, but he is higher on the initiative and attacks side of things. He then will give most of your army Scout and Crusader as well as an additional reaction in the movement phase.

Raven Guard Rules 8He has some really cool special rules, wargear, and all kinds of stuff. He’s a combat monster who can hit and run and is just cool.

Legion Specific Raven Guard Horus Heresy Rules Rumors

Here are the rules we promised, Falcons is really strong as it allows every model to re-roll all 1’s to wound in combat. Then, Hawks give you an even stronger Shroud.

Raven Guard Rules 6They are all pretty flavorful and let you strike from the shadows!

Raven Guard Rules 9 Raven Guard Rules 10This squad is great at sneaking in and getting the job done, plus they can just have all kinds of cool wargear. Then, Fatal Strike will really let them dish out the damage for one turn. With a 4+ Rending on all shooting attacks, they will hopefully rip through some stuff in that turn!
