MiniWarGaming issued an appeal to fans and viewers yesterday asking them for their help…
If you haven’t heard about MiniWarGaming, they are a fantastic source of hobby goodness. Mainly specializing in Battle Reports, they also create a ton of other hobby related content. However, times have gotten difficult and they are asking the hobby community-at-large for help.
MiniWarGaming Needs Your Help
MiniWarGaming has fallen on difficult times and is reaching out to the community they’ve been creating content for over the course of twelve years. While they’ve grown and have been responsible for awesome battle reports and other hobby encouragement, they are seeking financial support.
One of the main problems comes from their Video-viewing/support platform, Vimeo, they contacted MiniWarGaming saying that they would be increasing their service costs by 1700%. The cost that would normally be paid for a year of services now only gets them by for three weeks.
One of the ways you can help that they are asking for is to become a MiniWarGaming Vault Member. This is a subscription hobby content area on their website that unlocks a ton of other hobby content that you don’t normally get. There are narrative campaigns and other great tabletop gaming videos that you won’t be able to find on Youtube.
Being completely transparent, they are responsive to some of the frequently asked questions on solutions to the issue.
Q. Why not host the videos yourself or look into another hosting service?
A. We looked into this, and unfortunately, all other options that we could see (e.g. self-hosting, other services, cloud hosting) are even more expensive. Vimeo gave us a good deal, it’s just super expensive for a small business like us.
Q. I’m already a Vault member. How else can I support you?
A. First off, you are awesome! But if you want to help more, consider purchasing something from the Miniwargaming Shop
